Thank Bloomingdales for Contributing to the Orphan Bracelet Campaign

Ubunto_Orphan_-Bracelet

Target: Bloomingdales

Goal: Thank them for their support and contribution to an organization that betters the lives of orphaned children and South African women living with HIV/AIDS

Bloomingdales has recently decided to support a wonderful cause and sell Ubuntu Bracelets in select stores. Ubuntu Bracelets are a part of the Orphan Bracelet Campaign supported by Nobel Prize winner Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu.  The profits raised help orphaned and abandoned children. Bloomingdales has helped to make the efforts more accessible to everyday consumers.

The campaign employs and provides training in business and craftsmanship to South African women living with HIV/AIDS for producing the bracelets. Each piece is handmade out of recycled rubber and lead-free mixed materials like copper, brass, and aluminium.

Bishop Desmond Tutu explained the meaning behind the word “Ubuntu,” which embodies the motivation behind the cause very well.  Ubuntu is a phrase in Zulu that symbolizes a basic African cultural concept: the essence of being a human being is relevant and a part of reciprocation; being known for your reciprocity is an important aspect of one’s ethical principles.

Ubuntu bracelets have been for a long time supported by various organizations, online markets, and most lucratively through word of mouth and networking. Bloomingdales saw an opportunity to become part of a program that supplies struggling women for the sake of a virtuous and progressive cause. Each bracelet, in addition to being beautiful and versatile, contributes to the next generation by finding homes and support for the orphaned in Africa.

Please help us thank Bloomingdales for bringing handcrafted, meaningful goods into the mainstream market.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Bloomingdales,

Ubuntu Bracelets, initiated by Arch Bishop Desmund Tutu and the Orphan Bracelet Campaign, help create better lives for South African women and better futures for the children of today. Your recent decision to sell them in select stores is a wonderful way to make meaningful changes. For this, I would like to thank you.

Due to your involvement, Ubuntu bracelets will become more popular and accessible to everyday consumers. Bloomingdales is already a well-known, desirable department store and I believe that your choice to become part of such a great cause makes you even more respectable. The bracelets are beautiful and versatile and I look forward to seeing the influx in sales once they have been seen in various Bloomingdales throughout the US.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,
