Justice for 2,000 Rodents and Reptiles Allegedly Neglected and Starved

Target: Dave Young, District Attorney for Adams County, Colorado

Goal: Demand that the couple who allegedly kept thousands of rodents and reptiles in filthy conditions, leading to the deaths of 50, receive the maximum penalty under law.

Two thousand reptiles and rodents were allegedly forced to live in filthy conditions, leading to the deaths of fifty. The animals were reportedly kept in storage bins filled with their own waste. Demand justice for these poor animals.

When authorities searched Kenneth and Lynn Kubic’s home, they reportedly found more than 500 live animals living beside decomposing remains. Rows of shelving units and tubs, allegedly filled with filth and waste, held snakes, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, mice, and various reptiles. The snakes were reportedly kept without access to food or water and a bearded dragon was so emaciated that the poor animal needed immediate veterinary care.

The Kubics were charged with 72 counts of animal cruelty in this case. They were previously convicted of animal cruelty after multiple animals were found living in unsanitary conditions at their pet store. Sign below and demand that the Kubics be banned from ever owning animals again and receive the maximum penalty under law, if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Young,

Fifty rodents and reptiles died and thousands more suffered when they were allegedly forced to live in filth. The animals were reportedly denied access to food, water, and veterinary care. We demand justice for these innocent animals.

Kenneth and Lynn Kubic were convicted of animal cruelty in a separate case just months before authorities allegedly found thousands of small animals suffering in their basement. Snakes, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, mice, and various reptiles were allegedly packed into storage bins filled with their own waste and filth. Beside them, 50 dead animals reportedly decomposed. Per authorities, the snakes were kept without access to food or water and suffered with respiratory infections, abscesses, and dehydration.

This horrific cruelty must be punished. We demand that you ban the Kubics from ever owning animals again and seek the maximum penalty in this case.
