Prosecute Humane Society Director Accused of Asking Employee to Break Cat’s Neck

Target: Greg Edwards, District Attorney of Albany, Georgia

Goal: Harshly punish Humane Society director for reportedly directing employees to break cat’s neck.

The Director of the Albany Humane Society allegedly directed employees to break a cat’s neck as a form of euthanasia. The 54-year-old director, Andy Sartiano, was arrested and charged with one count of animal cruelty. Sartiano was also fired from her position for “not performing her duties.”

Breaking an animal’s neck as a form of euthanasia would be inhumane and unethical. This innocent cat deserves justice, and the other animals who may be at risk should be protected from abuse. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that the director be punished to the maximum extent and barred from working with animals in the future, if found guilty of these accusations.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Edwards,

Albany Humane Society Director Andy Sartiano allegedly instructed employees to break the neck of a cat, claiming it to be a form of euthanasia. This would be an inhumane, unethical way to treat an animal. The Humane Society is supposed to help animals, not mistreat them.

We, the undersigned, demand that the director be punished to the fullest extent of the law and barred from ever working with animals again, if found guilty of this abuse.

Sincerely,

  1. The employee who actually complied with the order to break the poor cats neck should have been charged as well. Instead they just lost their job.

  2. get this type of person out of these jobs and away from animals… we should have an island just for animal abusers like they used to for leprosy! and don’t send them supplies.. let them kill and eat each other. last one starves to death… if there ever will be a last one!

  3. Doris Alpern says:

This is an Inhumane society. The director and employee need to be fired and prosecuted. So disgusting that you can’t trust the societies that are are suppose to care for these innocent animals. They need to be put on an animal abuse registry so that they never work around animals again.

What is wrong with her? Can people really be that stupid and cruel? I guess so. Punish them and anybody even remotely involved in this behavior to the fullest extent and fire them from their jobs.

  5. Andy Sartiano should not only be fired, he should also be jailed! What is he doing, working in a humane society and doing the unthinkable, disgusting inhumane manner of killing a cat????!!!

  6. This sick monster needs to be prosecuted, thrown in jail and never to be allowed around animals!!!!

  7. LOCK THE MONSTER UP!!!

  8. Just when i thought i can no longer be shocked!!

  9. Stop & pursue this insane criminal rabble and this deformity  –  instantly!
DEMAND ALL PERSONS RESPONSIBLE IF NOT ABLE TO ACT IN A REASONABLE WAY TO START TO PAY REPARATION TO FUTURE GENERATIONS!
Not humane than barbaric, really stupid and worthless criminal and ignorant ASSHOLES, which should be banned on an island for their whole lives – the devil should take all responsible persons away! Or not?
THIS KIND OF BARBARISM AGAINST LIVING CREATURES IS LESS THAN INHUMANE AND MUST HAVE CONSEQUENCES FOR THE CRIMINAL RABBLE!

  10. How could she be a Humane Society director? Who put her in that position, thinking she would do a good job? Was she trying to save money? She must have owned chickens in the past because this is one of the ways they are killed… She should be forbidden to own any pet forever. How many pets died this way in that horrible place?

  11. Let’s break their necks and walk away..

  12. This person should be blacklisted from working in any Humane Society Directorship completely, and forever. It should be a matter of public record, and every Humane Society, should do background checks on every employee, especially those in charge, like directors. Any employee that would follow an order like that, should not be allowed to work with animals either.

  13. I’D LIKE TO BREAK HER NECK!

  14. Abusers should “Animal Abuser” tattooed on their forehead!
An Eye for an Eye – a neck for a neck!

  15. Is this the best Georgia’s humane society system has to offer? Outrageous! Fire all involved, prosecute for animal cruelty, and obviously prevent these and future abusers from being employed anywhere near animals in any capacity. Background checks and a database registry in this industry should be standard.
