Do Not Allow Unregulated Killing of Wolves in Wyoming

wolves

Target: Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead

Goal: Halt Wyoming’s plan to subject wolves to indiscriminate killing

The federal government recently stripped wolves in Wyoming of federal Endangered Species Act protections. Now, Wyoming state law will allow hunters to open fire on wolves in 85% of the state. Wyoming officials must recognize that it is not ecologically sustainable to treat once protected wildlife as unwanted predators. They must abandon this plan which would open wolves to indiscriminate killing.

Wyoming’s current wolf management plan states that wolves who wander beyond the northwest corner of the state can be shot, gassed or trapped by anyone at any time, even if they do not have a hunting license. This unregulated killing could set back decades of progress and conservation efforts that restored wolves to their historic habitat in the Northern Rockies. Since the recovery of wolf populations, Wyoming’s forests are thriving, demonstrating that wolves are a keystone species that ensure ecological balance.

No other animal, not even bears or mountain lions, have been subject to the demonization and double standards that wolves have endured. Wyoming officials must acknowledge that wolves are vital top-tier predators and implement responsible management practices that utilize non-lethal population control methods. Otherwise, under Wyoming’s current plan, up to 60% of the state’s wolf population could be decimated, reversing the species’ remarkable comeback and landing them back on the Endangered Species list.

Sign the petition below to urge Wyoming Governor Matthew Mead to halt Wyoming’s plan to open wolves to indiscriminate killing and manage wolves as important wildlife not unwanted pests.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Governor Mead,

I am writing to urge you to halt Wyoming’s plan to open wolves to indiscriminate killing. Wolves are vital top-tier predators that only recently came off the Endangered Species list. Wyoming, therefore, should implement responsible management practices that utilize non-lethal population control methods.

Wyoming’s current wolf management plan allowing unregulated killing could set back decades of progress and conservation efforts that restored wolves to their historic habitat in the Northern Rockies. Since the recovery of wolf populations, Wyoming’s forests have been thriving, demonstrating that wolves are a keystone species that ensure ecological balance.

It is absolutely necessary that you and other government officials recognize that it is not ecologically sustainable to treat once protected wildlife as unwanted predators. If you do not halt Wyoming’s current wolf management plan, up to 60% of the state’s wolf population could be decimated, reversing the species’ remarkable comeback and landing them back on the Endangered Species list.

Please halt Wyoming’s plan to open wolves to indiscriminate killing and manage wolves as important wildlife, not unwanted pests.

Sincerely,

I won’t stop saying the same truth again and again as long as you commit the same crimes again and again:

Don’t fool your voters and the rest of the world!
You kill more of your alleged important ecologically animals during one single oversea transport than a wolfmother in twenty years!!!!

Tell your ranchers to build fences, keep their cattles away from public land and protect them from dying on ships and in trucks in the name of globalization and tell your so-called hunters they are nothing else but cowardly little examples for Americans with either too much inferiority complexes or pathological pleasure in killing. The first-mentioned should be sent to the therapist and the others to jail.

And hey, the world doesn’t need more than half of the producted meat, because it ends up in the dustbins and on the streets of our modern „civilized“ human society, anyway!

Representives of a country with so rare extant nature and wildlife should be ashamed of the fact that they need to be reminded of the importance and need to protect their rare and precious heritage from human perversion, imbecility and greed and safe it for future generations !

I don’t think that being part of the environmental degradation and the extinction of wildlife in the United States is something you will tell your grandchildren with pride.

Time’s running out even for the United States; if you don’t act immediately and keep on supporting big corporations, “hunters” and ranchers you and your people will have to join the Europeans, Africans and Asians watching real nature on TV and wildlife in small cages and aquariums.

Surely, NOTHING YOU COULD BE PROUD OF !

There is a SIMPLE solution . Irish Wolfhounds ON YOUR PROPERTY . And the lady commenting before me was a very

I hope you realize what you have done and what you’re doing,
is not only an act of civil war, it is also an act of high
treason, and what you have done, was stir up a hornet’s nest
by angering the vast majority of people on this planet who want
our wolves left alone, and I promise you this:

Because of the bloodthirsty actions you have taken,
YOU SHALL BE CURSED A THOUSAND CURSES
FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!
From this day forward, the State Of Wyoming
    SHALL BE CURSED, BOYCOTTED,
and SHUNNED BY THE REST OF THE WORLD!!

    If your state’s economy suffers,
then you’ll only have yourselves to blame!!
And when the super-volcano at Yellowstone blows,
it’ll be the result of your own arrogance and YOU will pay
the ultimate price with your souls when the
Great Spirit renders His final Judgment!!!

Because of man’s arrogance and cruelty towards Nature,
the world will end on December 21, 2012.

And when Yellowstone explodes into a fiery rage,
there may not be a state of Wyoming, Idaho, nor Montana,
nor even a United States, for that matter!
There may not be an Earth for anything or anyone
to stand on because of man’s own arrogance,
    selfishness, greed, and total stupidity!!!

Because of your evil decision to order the massare of our wolves,
you have just destroyed the planet Earth,
along with more than 7 billion people and scores of wildlife!!

Let this be known that you shall forever
be put to shame for this outrage!!!

  4. Stop killing the Wolfs there the one that God put them here first. Not us! Stop it & all Anumals. Mimi

  5. Thomas Murphy says:

the need to boycott Yellowstone is necessary, but dumb people ignore what needs to be done because we are so spoiled and selfish we won’t change our plans even though it could mean saving the wolves.
our politicians think they are untouchable, and the way things are going – they are//

  6. Michael Guest says:

This is unacceptable and unfair. The wolves need our help more than ever. We’re not going to let this unnecessary assaults in Wyoming. Reject the hunts and help the wolves. I’m serious.

  7. Pam Kistler says:

The USFWS, Dept. of Interior, Sally Jewell, Dan Ashe, President Obama and the Congress need to step up and stop this terrible destruction! They are just listening to the likes of the NRA, ranchers, and hunters ( most of which are psychopaths at the very least if not people with serial killer mentalities!). I know the government is going through a lot right now, but all it takes is a truly listening ear and the stroke of a pen!

  8. Roxanne WolfLady Jones says:

STOP KILLING WOLVES PERIOD… it is MAN who is the world’s WORST PREDATOR… wolves merely survive the best they can under the dictates of men who have stolen & privatized the land … wonder what could happen if we could put guns in the paws of wolves to defend themselves & THEIR territories… reality is we can’t, so they’re depending on those of us who are TRULY humane to stop this senseless & inhumane slaughter WORLDWIDE!!! What’s totally INSANE here is even trying to justify killing wolves on the premise they destroy livestock MAN IS GOING TO KILL ANYWAY FOR FOOD… man can GROW food… can wolves? Man can purchase food… can wolves? IF wolves are truly killing livestock then it is ONLY because man-un-kind is leaving them NO CHOICES through man’s OWN GREED * self-perceived “needs”. SO STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT!!! And by all means remember… KARMA IS A BITCH!

  9. Jacob Dale Cleary says:

To the Governor who is putting the wolves in harm’s way,

If you’re going to deny the wolves the right to exist YOU MUST DIE!!! If you won’t allow wolves to have rights to be loved YOU MUST DIE!!! If you won’t appreciate wolves YOU MUST DIE!!! If you won’t feed wolves what they want YOU MUST DIE!!! If you are going to deny wolves their right to exist and live in peace with good eats then YOU MUST DIE!!!! Either rescue the wolves from extinction and make sure they are loved or risk going to hell to get your eyes gouged out again and again.
