Save the Bengal Slow Loris From Extinction

Target: Mohammad Raihul Alam Mondal, Director General, Department of Environment, Bangladesh

Goal: Demand the government of Bangladesh enforce tougher regulations on deforestation to protect the home of the endangered Bengal slow loris.

The endangered Bengal slow loris is facing extinction because rampant deforestation is destroying its natural habitat. The slow loris has been internationally recognized as an endangered species for well over four decades.

Deforestation in Bangladesh is destroying the slow loris’s food and shelter. Deforestation has robbed the species of so much land and food that it has no choice but to encroach on more densely populated areas and localities.

The Bengal slow loris has a lifespan of only 15 years. The female species only has offspring every few years. If this deforestation continues, the species will surely go extinct. Sign the petition and ask the government of Bangladesh to enforce stricter regulations on deforestation to protect the endangered Bengal slow loris.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director General Mondal,

The Bengal slow loris is an internationally recognized endangered species that finds its habitat in your nation. However, its habitat is rapidly shrinking. Rampant deforestation has robbed it of its food and shelter.

If this deforestation continues, the slow loris will go extinct. It is currently being squeezed into the only available land in populated localities, but it cannot thrive for long there. I ask that you work to enforce tougher regulations on deforestation so that the Bengal slow loris can be saved from extinction.

Sincerely,
