Don’t Let Trump Create Excuse for Iran War

Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States

Goal: Stop trying to find excuses for renewed hostilities with Iran.

The White House is pressuring intelligence officials to come up with an excuse to justify claiming Iran is in violation of a landmark nuclear agreement. Signed in 2015, the international agreement gave Iran sanctions relief in exchange for curtailing its nuclear program. The deal was hailed as a major step toward defusing tension between the U.S. and Iran, while also curbing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. U.S. President Donald Trump has long been a vocal opponent of the agreement, and is now reportedly searching for any excuse to tear it up. According to The Guardian, intelligence officials fear a repeat of the events of 2003, when the U.S. invaded Iraq on bogus claims that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

“There was a sense of déjà vu. There was a sense of ‘we’ve seen this movie before’,” former CIA analyst Ned Price told The Guardian.

If you don’t want to see the U.S. wade into another conflict based on potentially dodgy intelligence, sign this petition demanding Trump stop trying to find excuses for renewed hostilities with Iran.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Trump,

Since 2003, the world has been dealing with the consequences of a war waged for nothing. Allegedly pressured by the Bush administration, a U.S. intelligence community provided bogus claims of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, thus leading to over a decade of war. American and coalition lives were lost fighting for something that simply wasn’t true. That untruth has left Iraq in ruins, a region in turmoil, and the rise of extremist groups like the Islamic State.

The phony WMD claims might have been avoided if the White House hadn’t pressured intelligence officials for an excuse to lash out at Iraq. Now, The Guardian reports your administration may be going down the same road as Bush. By demanding intelligence officials come up with an excuse to tear up the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, you’re putting both Iranian and American lives at risk. You’re threatening the fragile peace between Iran and world powers for no reason.

The United States doesn’t need another decade of war in another Muslim country, on another set of false pretenses. Instead of trying to make another war, why don’t you focus on making things Americans actually need: education, infrastructure and those jobs you keep promising?

Sincerely,

  1. Why should we trust anything the American government says? Remember, in 2013, the American government – courtesy of Obama – LEGALIZED government propaganda. Now they can LEGALLY lie to people about anything.
So if they come up with “evidence” against Iran it’s likely a lie.
As well, if Israel, who is also itching to go to war against Iran, comes up with “evidence”, why should we believe them? Their intelligence service MOSSAD’s motto is “By way of DECEPTION thou shalt make war”.
Who can trust these people? Why should people have to die for a lie?

  2. Amen to that my friend!
