Don’t Frack Around Yellowstone National Park

Target: Michael Nedd, Acting Director of the Bureau of Land Management

Goal: Don’t allow gas giant to drill for natural gas in the area surrounding Yellowstone National Park.

Over 220 square miles of land surrounding Yellowstone National Park may soon be a prime location for natural gas drilling. Such a massive project will put the nation’s first national park’s land, water, and air at risk of contamination.

This project, called the Normally Pressured Lance Natural Gas Project, could destroy the fragile landscape of Yellowstone. Endangered animals could be harmed. Habitats could be lost. Water could be polluted. Asthma in children could worsen.

Conservationists have asked the federal government to halt the project, which will consist of 3,500 gas wells, to no avail. Sign the petition and join them. Demand that Yellowstone be protected from the damaging effects of fracking.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Nedd,

More than 220 square miles around Yellowstone National Park are threatened by over 3,500 gas wells. A new fracking project will put the land, water, and air of Yellowstone and its surrounding area at risk.

The Normally Pressured Lance Natural Gas Project should be halted immediately. Animals who call Yellowstone home, not to mention thousands of nearby citizens, will be put in danger from pollution. Yellowstone was founded as a national treasure and a way to preserve the natural beauty America has to offer. I ask that the federal government protect Yellowstone by halting the project.

Sincerely,

  1. Stop all fracking NOW! LEAVE IT IN THE GROUND WHERE IT BELONGS. STOP FRACKING YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK NOW! THIS IS PUBLUC LAND, AND IT IS NOT YOURS TO USE AS YOU WOULD LIKE TOO.

  2. Given the tendency of fracking to cause earthquakes, it should be prohibited anywhere *even near* the Yellowstone supervolcano caldera. The reasons for this should be obvious.

    • Suzan Sims says:

They don’t either think or they don’t care about the super volcano. All they think and care about is money. They’re too stupid and greedy to know that when that thing finally blows, it’s game over for all of us. What good is their money for them then?

  3. Fracking Destroys the rock layers. Yellowstone is a jewel in our park system. Fracking Could Kill Old Faithful and all the unique hot springs, like the beautiful blue pool. Do Not Allow Fracking. This a United States National Park and that means Protect It!!!

  4. What a crime this would be!
Activists Unite! Fight for out planet!

  5. Stay the hell away from our national parks!

  6. They won`t be satisfied until they`ve destroyed the planet. Greed and stupidity
