Justice for Dog Reportedly Forced to Wear Cone for a Year

Target: Stefanie J. Salavantis, District Attorney for Luzerne County, Pennsylvania

Goal: Demand that the women who allegedly neglected a dog and forced him to wear a cone for a year receive the maximum penalty under law.

A dog was allegedly neglected and forced to wear a cone for a year. The dog reportedly suffered from a flea infestation and had lost most of his hair. Demand justice for this poor dog.

“This dog was being tortured in my estimation, and it was going through hell,” stated humane officer Wayne Harvey of the Luzerne County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Officers responded to Diane and Jessica Cates’ home after they received a report of a dog seen wearing a cone for a year. Max, a 12-year-old lab mix, was reportedly so badly infested with fleas that he was anemic. He was also allegedly underweight and missing most of his hair.

Max was taken into protective custody and his health is improving. Diane and Jessica Cates were each charged with animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that Diane and Jessica Cates each receive the maximum penalty under law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Salavantis,

A dog suffered tremendously when he was allegedly forced to wear a cone around his neck for a year. The dog was reportedly anemic due to a severe flea infestation and showed signs of neglect. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Shocking photos showed Max, a 12-year-old lab mix, wearing a filthy and distorted cone around his neck. Per the Luzerne County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Max was dangerously underweight and losing his hair due to the thousands of fleas feeding on his frail body. Max also reportedly suffered from an infection caused by the flea bites.

This horrific abuse cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Phsyco bitches let me throw some fleas and lice up your A…. Just so you could suffer ONLY ONE YEAR BIT….

  2. How could anyone treat a dog like this? He must have been going through hell yet those who could have helped him chose to do nothing and prolong his agony. What would have happened if he had not been found? These awful people would have continued to neglect him. Charge them with cruelty and neglect and throw the book at them. At least.

  3. how could anyone do this to an animal put them in jail and throw away the key make sure they are infested with fleas and force them to where a collar
