Justice for Horse Allegedly Tied to Truck and Dragged

Target: Henry Garza, Bell County District Attorney

Goal: Seek the maximum penalty for man accused of dragging a horse down the road.

A horse was reportedly dragged down a road in Texas after the owner tied him to the back of a trailer on his truck. Police were called twice about a bloody horse running behind a trailer. Witnesses say the 54-year-old owner, Joseph Booth, was dragging the poor horse at 35-40 miles per hour. When officers arrived, they say the horse was bloody and had large patches of hair missing as well as the skin around his eye removed. The veterinarian who treated the horse confirmed that the injuries, which included road rash and deep lacerations, were consistent with being him dragged on the ground.

This is a cruel way to transport a horse, and any horse owner would know better. It seems clear that the owner has no regard for this poor animal’s life. Please sign this petition to demand that he receive the maximum penalty possible for his alleged actions and be banned from owning animals in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Garza,

A horse was allegedly tied to a trailer and cruelly dragged down the road at 35-40 miles per hour. The poor animal was left suffering from road rash, deep lacerations, patches of missing hair, and the skin around his eye removed, according to police. The veterinarian who treated the horse said that the injuries were consistent with him being dragged on the ground.

We, the undersigned, are calling on you to ensure that the owner accused of this is never able to harm another innocent animal again. Please seek the maximum possible penalty and ban him from owning animals in the future if he is convicted.

Sincerely,

WTF why would anyone do that to a horse or any animal ?!? This man should never be allowed to have an animal again. This man should be drug behind a vehicle, then let him heal up once he’s healed, drag his ass behind the vehicle again.
