Ban Extreme Rodeo from Fair

Target: Kathy Kramer, Chief Executive Officer, Orange County Fair

Goal: Do not allow The Extreme Rodeo and other such animal abuse masquerading as entertainment to be attractions at the fair.

A traveling rodeo that exposes bulls and men to rings of fire during the show caused outrage at the Orange County Fair, where it is a main attraction. Traveling rodeos in general are rife with animal abuse—exposing them to inhumane conditions during travel as well as trauma during the rodeo itself. The Extreme Rodeo literally adds fuel to this fire with its use of flames, and videos captured and posted online of this horrific practice sparked five nights of protest at the Orange County Fair.

One video shows a close call in which a man was trampled into the flames. As Judie Mancuso, president of animal welfare organization Social Compassion in Legislation, puts it, “Electric prods, ‘bucking straps’ that burn the animal, metal spurs, various roping techniques which commonly lead to neck and back injuries or sometimes death, events that lead to leg injuries such as ripped tendons or broken bones that require the animal to be euthanized, and finally injuries to internal organs such as punctured lungs, are the various forms of pain and suffering these rodeo animals endure… It is time Orange County stops allowing this kind of cruelty to occur in our backyard.”

Sign below to demand that The Extreme Rodeo and other shows like it be banned as attractions at the Orange County Fair.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Executive Officer Kramer,

The Extreme Rodeo is an irresponsible and cruel attraction that not only abuses animals, but also presents a public safety hazard. A man was captured on video being trampled into flames during the show, and the subsequent outrage and protests are well-founded.

Traveling rodeos—even without the added danger of rings of fire—expose innocent animals to inhumane conditions and encourage the idea that brutality and torment are forms of entertainment. I urge you to disallow these abusive “attractions” from the Orange County Fair.

Sincerely,

  1. BAN ALL CRUEL RODEOS ON THE GREAT FARM ANIMALS NOW.

  2. this whoring sons – the organizer and the rodeo people should rot in hell
pain with exorbitant and then die

I don’t call them “humans”. I call them subhuman demonic refuse. The scale of pain they inflicted upon an animal that did nothing to deserve it disturbs me to no end.

  3. Animal cruelty isn’t entertainment.

  4. Ban All Rodeos!

They exist only because some poor people do not possess empathy and self-esteem, and for that reason must elevate their personal unity and status with trivial prices at the expense of the animals.

  5. Jaime Perez says:

Extremeist are sick people who get their kicks by hurting the innocent and call it entertainment. The poor animals used in this so called rodeo, do not deserve this kind of treatment.

  6. THIS IS DISGUSTING!

  7. Rosslyn Osborne says:

Heart breaking, and I bet the humans got all the medical help they needed but that bull was burning and smoking also! What help did he get?
Humans have sunk so much below the status of animals it is appalling to see, but even worse are the people that pay to watch this cruelty?
Enough is enough! You want extreme sport then go jump out of planes or off cliff, but leave animal alone.

  9. I would like to the rodeo men to do to each other as they do to animals. I would pay to see that! I am sure they don’t have the balls for that!

I’d like to see that too. It’s time they stop exploiting and torturing these poor animals and get their rocks off on each other.

  10. Sugandha N. says:

Ban any abuse to any animal!
