Trump Adviser: Apologize for Suggesting Mosque Attack was ‘Fake’ Hate Crime

Target: Sebastian Gorka, White House Adviser

Goal: Apologize for suggesting the Minnesota mosque attack was a “fake” hate crime “propagated by the left.”

Donald Trump has so far remained silent regarding the recent explosion at a mosque in Minnesota. Given how quickly he has publicly reacted to other attacks, especially those committed by Muslims, his silence is troubling. In an attempt to explain this discrepancy, White House adviser Sebastian Gorka appeared on MSNBC and suggested the mosque attack could have been a “fake” hate crime “propagated by the left,” despite having no evidence to back up this suggestion.

Gorka said that the president would comment after the incident had been thoroughly investigated, adding, “We’ve had a series of crimes committed, alleged hate crimes, by right-wing individuals in the last six months, that turned out to actually have been propagated by the left.” Gorka did not offer any examples of such crimes.

The Trump administration’s silence regarding this attack is almost certainly bigoted in nature, given the president’s tendency to hastily and publicly respond to other attacks, particularly those perpetrated by Muslim individuals. Add your name to the petition below to demand that Gorka apologize for casting doubt on this incident.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Gorka,

In a recent appearance on MSNBC, you attempted to explain Donald Trump’s silence on the Minnesota mosque bombing by suggesting that the attack may have been a “fake” hate crime. You added that there have been a “series” of “alleged hate crimes” in the past six months that “turned out to actually have been propagated by the left.” You offered no evidence or examples to back up either of these statements.

The president has historically been very quick to comment on and publicly condemn attacks carried out by Muslim individuals, and his reluctance to condemn an attack on Muslims is due not to a sense of political caution, but by bigotry, plain and simple. I demand that you apologize for your insensitive and completely unfounded comments regarding this hate crime.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

fake hate crimes? think again, there is no such thing as fake hate crime except real hate crime such as hate speech.

    • Actually there is such a thing as fake hate crimes. You can see for yourself if you google it. It’s done when people or organizations want to create sympathy for themselves and incite the public in hatred against their enemies.
However, having said that, I totally agree with this petition and think that Trump is being completely bigoted and two-faced about this issue. I find his reaction to this attack repugnant and despicable.
