Don’t Cut Kentucky Rehabilitation Center’s Budget

Target: Steve Beshear, Governor of Kentucky

Goal: Stop budget cuts for the Healing Place rehabilitation center

In today’s economy it is extremely hard for businesses to maintain their budgets. They are losing funding left and right and often end up going out of business. Recently, Healing Place of Louisville Kentucky, an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center, lost around one million dollars of funding. Such a huge budget cut is obviously extremely detrimental to the business. Without this funding, the Healing Place is likely to go out of business. We must demand that the budget of the Healing Place rehabilitation center not be cut.

Unfortunately, alcohol and drug addiction is a severe problem in America. Rehabilitation centers are extremely important in helping addicts become sober. If the budget of the Healing Place is cut, many addicts will be unable to receive help. This will only create a vicious cycle; addicts will not be able to receive help, so they may lose their jobs. This then makes the economy worse, and more rehabilitation centers are going to end up going out of business. In order to keep rehabilitation centers open and help more addicts become sober, the funding for the Healing Place rehabilitation center must not be cut.

Dear Steve Beshear,

Recently, the funding for the Healing Place rehabilitation center was cut by one million dollars. This is an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that helps addicts get sober and get their lives back on track. While the demand for their services is increasing, the Healing Place is having a difficult time maintaining business due to its decreased budget. If it cannot continue to stay open, many addicts will not receive the treatment they need. It is necessary for this business to receive more funding in order for it to stay open.

If the Healing Place is not able to stay in business, a harmful cycle will begin. Addicts will not be able to get help, increasing the possibility that they will lose their job due to addiction. This makes the economy worse and then more businesses will be required to cut their budgets. If this happens, more and more rehabilitation centers will close down and leave addicts without options for treatment. It is extremely important that the budget for the Healing Place be restored, and funding be increased so the rehab center can remain in business.
