Don’t Decimate Rain Forests and the Endangered Species That Rely on Them

Target: Eunicio Oliveira, PMDB, President of Brazil’s Federal Senate

Goal: Don’t decrease the amount of protected rain forest acreage.

The National Congress of Brazil is set to debate a bill that would lead to the destruction of the South American nation’s rich rain forests. Should the bill be passed, deforestation would wage across the country’s national forests.

The bill calls for the Jamanxim National Forest to be cut down by more than 27 percent, a space of land roughly the size of Portugal. Endangered species in the forest may go extinct and “land grabbers” seeking to profit off the once-protected land’s resources will grow wealthy.

Our planet’s rain forests are shrinking rapidly. What is left must be protected at all costs. Sign the petition and demand that the bill be rejected and Brazil’s rain forests be protected.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear President Oliveira,

An area of rain forest the size of Portugal is threatened with destruction by a new law that will rob parts of the Jamanxim National Forest of its protections. This move will kill animals and strip the land of its natural resources.

Brazil’s rain forest is one of the most majestic in the world, but it is facing severe threats every single day. I ask that you and your congressmen and women reject this legislation and protect the rain forests of Brazil.

Sincerely,

indigenous people are endangered and they need help!

  2. You huge ignoramuses, you are turning the amazon basin into a sahara, and then there shall be no return, don’t you realize that? Don’t you realize what this will do to the earth?

  3. Please protect these forests! The implications will be detrimental to us, the animal life and the people who live there. And no turning back once the damage is done. Please leave it be.

  4. Please protect the forests, our future generation depend on it. Without forests there would be less medicines (new), increased CO2 and less life overall.

  5. Leave forest alone.

Yes, it’s as the Portuguese manage their robbed land…
No suppraised about anything around Amazon forest…
But it gonna be just themselves who will be roasted by sun and maybe one day Sahara is waiting for them…

  7. LOTS OF PETITIONS SIGNED ALREADY!
    NOTHING HAPPENED!
KICK ALL OF THE PERSONS RESPONSIBLE OUT OF THEIR PROFESSION AND LET THEM PAY REPARATION TO FUTURE GENERATIONS!

  8. The destruction of the rain forest will further global warming. Man-made pollution and global deforestation go hand-in-hand with global warming. Weather is created from the Equator. This is decade old data! Why are politicians turning a blind eye? Is it lack of intelligence or greed?
