Punish Thief Who Stole Valuable Tortoise

Target: James P. O’Neill, New York City Police Commissioner

Goal: Find and punish thief who stole tortoise from environmental center.

A beloved tortoise named Millennium was stolen from the Alley Pond Environmental Center in Queens. The animal’s caretaker is desperate, pleading for the unknown thief to return Millennium as soon as possible. “No questions asked… We just want him back,” said caretaker Carlos Martinez, according to news reports.

The thief has yet to be identified, but the animal was reportedly worth a few thousand dollars on the black market. It is all too possible that the thief intended to sell the poor creature to make a small fortune. It is cruel enough to abruptly remove an animal from their safe space, but it is especially reprehensible to treat the animal like chattel.

Returning the tortoise is only the first step; the thief needs to be found, identified, and punished. Sign this petition to demand this animal thief face justice for their actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Commissioner O’Neil,

Millennium the tortoise was recently stolen from the Alley Pond Environmental Center, and the thief has yet to be identified. Caretaker Carlos Martinez is desperate for the animal’s return. It is entirely possible that the tortoise was stolen due to its monetary value on the black market, and that the thief intends to make a few thousand dollars off of a living creature.

You must find this thief and punish them severely. The theft of an animal is a crime, and it is cruel to not only take an animal from their home, but to treat them like an object to be sold to the highest bidder. Even if the thief should return the tortoise, they still need to face justice for their actions as quickly as possible.

Punish this thief as soon as they are identified. Animals do not deserve to be stolen and sold as though they were objects, and Millennium has been badly missed at the environmental center.

Sincerely,

  1. WHEN THIS TURTLE IS RETURNED ,CUT OFF THE HANDS OF THIS THIEF NOW.

  2. Why stop at cutting off his hands ?
Cutting off his arms would insure no return problems.
