Stop Throwing Out Life-Saving Drugs

Target: Scott Gottlieb, M.D., Commissioner of Food and Drugs, FDA

Goal: Stop wasting billions of dollars by throwing out life-saving drugs.

Millions of life-saving drugs, not to mention billions of dollars, are being wasted every single year. Incorrect expiration dates on medicine and pharmaceuticals take money from Americans, while putting millions of dollars into the pharmaceutical industry.

Research has found that expiration dates on drugs in hospitals, nursing homes, and pharmacies around the country are faulty. In fact, medicine has proven to work just as effectively years after the printed expiration date has passed. Although the healthcare industry knows this, all efforts to reevaluate expiration dates have failed.

As much as $765 billion is wasted every single year when medicine is discarded. However, the healthcare industry profits because hospitals and pharmacies have no choice but to stockpile newer drugs. Sign the petition and demand that this waste come to an end. Ask the FDA to evaluate expiration dates on life-saving drugs.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Dr. Gottlieb,

Hundreds of billions of dollars every single year are wasted because life-saving drugs are being discarded. Research has shown the expiration date on these drugs to be faulty, yet nothing has been done to reevaluate the date process.

Healthcare industries are profiting off this waste, while Americans are suffering. This waste is one of the reasons America’s healthcare is among the most expensive in the world. I demand that that FDA seriously reevaluate the waste that is occurring in our healthcare industry.

Sincerely,

  1. Well big pharma has quite a scam going here. This is disgusting. Their insatiable greed is deplorable.
This should be immediately investigated and stopped.
