Don’t Dismantle the Affordable Care Act Without a Replacement

Target: Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader

Goal: Do not repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act without a replacement healthcare system.

After several failed attempts to pass a new healthcare bill, Senate Republicans are planning to vote on a measure that would repeal parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) without immediately replacing them. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that this plan would result in 17 million people losing health coverage by next year, and 32 million within a decade.

The new plan would eliminate Obamacare premium subsidies and the penalty for not having health insurance, repeal several ACA taxes, and end expansion of Medicaid.

Despite years of Republican outcry over the perils of the Affordable Care Act, the GOP-led Senate and House have proven themselves incapable of drafting a passable replacement for Obamacare. To vote on a measure that simply repeals certain aspects of the ACA with no immediate plan to replace them is a last-ditch effort at progress that will serve only to rob millions of Americans of healthcare. Add your name to the petition below to demand that this vote not take place.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Senator McConnell,

Having failed to create and pass a new healthcare bill, the Senate now plans to vote on repealing parts of the Affordable Care Act without immediately replacing them. According to recently released estimates from the Congressional Budget Office, this plan would result in 17 million Americans losing coverage in the next year, and 32 million Americans would lose coverage within a decade.

Republican lawmakers have failed to create a passable healthcare bill, and the attempt to begin dismantling the ACA without a replacement plan puts millions of Americans at risk. I urge you not to hold a vote on this dangerous and rushed measure.

Sincerely,

Senator McCain is very lucky that he doesn’t have to use TrumpCare for his current medical needs. He and all the other elected or appointed officials have the best health care in this country, thanks to the American citizenry who doesn’t have nearly what those self-entitled elitists take from us.

Elected and appointed officials should have to use exactly the same health care American taxpayers get and nothing more, nothing extra, NOTHING BETTER. If it’s good enough for US, it’s GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM.

ELECTED (and appointed) DOES NOT MEAN ENTITLED to better health care or benefits than the citizenry.
