Ask MetroPCS to Stop Promoting Elephant Abuse

elephant

Target: Thomas Keys, President of MetroPCS

Goal: Stop the cell phone company’s promotion of Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus

MetroPCS has been advertising Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus by offering free tickets to performances. Ringling Bros. is notorious for their abuse of elephants, and their trainers have been documented on numerous undercover videos beating and abusing elephants. They were also recently fined $270,000 by the US Department of Agriculture, the highest fine ever imposed on an animal exhibitor, for hundreds of animal rights violations.

Ringling Bros. employs barbaric practices to train their elephants. They have been documented slamming baby elephants to the ground as a method to teach them tricks, beating and gouging elephants with metal rods that have hooks on the end, and shocking them with electric prods. They also rip still-nursing elephants away from their mothers and chain them up for 23 hours a day. Many photos and much undercover video footage have been released to the public of the atrocities committed against elephants in a Ringling Bros. circus.

MetroPCS has been told and shown that Ringling Bros. has a history of animal abuse and neglect, but they continue to promote the circus, even while major corporations such as Whole Foods, Visa, Mastercard, and Denny’s are distancing themselves from the Ringling Bros. name. By signing the petition below, you are asking Metro PCS to stop associating with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus, and to stop promoting the circus to their customers.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Thomas Keys,

Despite public knowledge that Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus abuses and neglect their elephants, your company has continued to promote the circus to your customers by offering free tickets. There is much footage of Ringling Bros. trainers beating elephants with sharp hooks, shocking them with electric prods, and neglecting still-nursing baby elephants, and the company has recently paid the largest fine ever levied upon an animal exhibitor. They have committed hundreds of animal rights violations, and continue to do so with no regard to the punishments they’ve received.

I am asking you to please stop promoting the circus, and join other companies such as Visa, Mastercard, Whole Foods, and Denny’s to distance yourself from Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. Please be another voice in the fight against animal abuse and neglect, and help Ringling Bros. see that they need to change the way they treat their animals.

Sincerely,

  1. The most disgusting, horrific show on earth. When will the public be aware of this?
