Applaud Apple for iPhone Apps that Help Users Stay Safe in the Sun

Target: Timothy Cook, CEO of Apple

Goal: Show appreciation for skin-protecting iPhone apps.

In today’s society tanning is extremely popular; however many people do not go about getting tan in a safe manner. Whether it’s the fact that people don’t care about getting sunburns, or the fact that they don’t know enough information to protect their skin, many people are putting themselves at risk for skin cancer. You may read some skin-saving tips online, but when you’re actually laying out on the beach, you may have already forgotten those tips. Apple has provided a way for customers to not only learn about skin protection, but also the ability to take these tools everywhere with them on their phones.

With new apps like Coppertone MyUVAlert, which lets you set up a sunscreen profile for yourself and family members, and Nevus, which sets off an alarm when it is time for you to reapply sunscreen, people are able to stay protected from the sun at all times. People almost always have their phones on them, even at the beach, so staying protected and informed is extremely easy with these apps. By creating these apps, Apple is helping customers avoid sunburn, and even more importantly, skin cancer. We must show Apple our appreciation for these revolutionary apps that are helping customers stay safe in the sun.

Dear Timothy Cook,

Apple has always been a company to create interesting and helpful apps, but customers would like to thank you especially for the new sun-savvy, skin protecting apps such as Coppertone MyUVAlert and Nevus. Tanning is such a popular trend today that everyone is going to the beach or laying on their porches to get tan; however, many people do not do so safely. Many people just don’t know enough information about skin safety to actually protect themselves in the sun. Not only do these apps educate people on skin safety, but they also make these tips extremely convenient and easy to access.

In the age of technology, everyone carries their phones with them everywhere they go. Thus, the tips that they need to protect themselves from the sun are always at their fingertips. Whether just laying in the backyard or spending a day at the beach, customers with these apps will always be able to protect themselves from the sun. Being able to not only make a sunscreen profile for yourself, but also to set an alarm for when you need to reapply sunscreen makes staying safe in the sun and avoiding skin cancer much easier. I want to thank you for your consideration in creating these extremely helpful and convenient sun-savvy apps.
