Fire Officer Accused of Attacking Activist in Wheelchair

Target: Kim Jacobs, Columbus Police Chief

Goal: Fire officer who reportedly dumped wheelchair-bound protester to the floor.

A wheelchair-bound healthcare activist was allegedly dumped from her wheelchair by a female Columbus police officer. Alisa Grishman was protesting the Republican repeal of the Affordable Care Act — social media video seems to capture the moment she was thrown from her wheelchair by the officer.

Grishman fell face first to the ground and was sprawled on the floor. As soon as the incident occurred, video shows the officer leaving the woman on the ground. Grishman, who has MS, could have been seriously injured.

The Columbus police officer allegedly used unnecessary force against Grishman, who posed no threat. As the video shows, this police officer does not have the temperament to serve in the line of duty nor does she demonstrate a willingness to protect members of her community. Sign the petition and demand that she be fired for her alleged actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Jacobs,

Social media video appears to show one of your officers throwing a wheelchair-bound protester from her chair during a protest against the Republican repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Alisa Grishman, who has MS, was tossed from her chair and flung face first to the ground.

Video shows the officer who committed the act leaving the scene. This officer reportedly used unnecessary force against Grishman, who was doing nothing but demonstrating her First Amendment right peacefully. This officer has neither the temperament nor ability to successfully protect members of her community. I ask that she be let go from the force as punishment for her horrible actions.

Sincerely,
