Shut Down Allegedly Abusive Chicken Producing Facilities

Target: Sonny Perdue, Secretary of U.S. Department of Agriculture

Goal: Demand the immediate shut down of two chicken producing facilities after chickens were allegedly tortured and abused.

Chickens have reportedly been subjected to horrific abuse at Pilgrim’s Pride, America’s second largest chicken producing company. An undercover investigation by the Humane Society of the United States reportedly revealed chickens being subjected to various acts of torture at two separate facilities. Demand the immediate shut down of these locations.

An undercover investigation produced shocking video footage of animal cruelty at two Pilgrim’s Pride facilities. At a slaughterhouse in Texas, chickens were reportedly punched and violently slammed into shackles to inflict pain. Chickens were also reportedly beaten with a metal rod, grabbed by the throat, and thrown into the air at a contract farm in Georgia.

The Humane Society filed animal cruelty complaints with the Titus County Sheriff’s Office in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department in Danielsville, Georgia. Sign below and demand the immediate shut down of these cruel facilities.

Dear Secretary Perdue,

Shocking video reportedly showed chickens being abused at two Pilgrim’s Pride chicken producing facilities. Chickens were reportedly punched, beaten, and violently shackled. We demand the immediate shut down of these cruel facilities.

Investigators at a contract farm in Hull, Georgia and a slaughterhouse in Mt. Pleasant, Texas tell a shocking tale of abuse. Sick chickens reportedly had their necks twisted in a cruel attempt to kill them. Healthy chickens were allegedly beaten and aggressively thrown around. Though Pilgrim’s Pride claims to offer animal welfare training to employees that handle live chickens, the undercover investigator in Texas reportedly did not receive any such training.

This horrific cruelty cannot continue. We demand that you immediately shut down these two facilities.

Thank you to HSUS for their undercover investigation and expose of these cruelties.
Please consider stopping participation in animal cruelty by going vegan. There is no such thing as humane factory farming. See
Hope the monsters that committed these atrocities are fully prosecuted.

  4. If we are going to raise them in order to kill them so we can eat them, we owe it to them to do do it as humanely as possible. There is no excuse for intentionally mishandling these living creatures.

Are you kidding do u think eating is abuse you must be an non meat eater so chickens got to be treated like queens n kings before you bite down on them why won’t y’all worry bout women n children be abused damn

    • In my experience, most people concerned about animal cruelty are also concerned about abuse of women, children and all who are oppressed. We don’t confine our love and compassion to just one certain group.
And yes, eating animals is abuse. We don’t need to eat animals to live a healthy life. Why then do people abuse and kill them if it’s not necessary? There’s something wrong with people’s thinking.
