Justice for 80 Great Danes Allegedly Neglected

Target: Michaela Andruzzi, County Attorney, Carroll County, New Hampshire

Goal: Ban accused puppy mill operator from animal ownership.

The owner of a suspected puppy mill is facing animal cruelty charges after police removed over 80 Great Danes from her eight-bedroom mansion. According to investigators, the dogs were living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, sliding around in urine and feces. The scent of ammonia and feces in the home was reportedly unbearable, and investigators say that the animals’ eyes were inflamed because of it.

The dogs, which include nine puppies and several pregnant mothers, had a wide array of health issues. Per investigators, they were scared, starving, and suffered from various contagious viral infections, eye problems, and skin conditions. They required extensive veterinary care for their ailments and many will require rehabilitation.

Christina Fay, the operator of De La Sang Monde Great Danes, sells the puppies for $2,500 each. She claims to be innocent of any animal cruelty, and that the home was dirty because it hadn’t yet had its daily cleaning. This, however, does not explain the lack of food or water left for the animals and their emaciated states.

So far, it seems that the owner of this alleged puppy mill is trying to cover up her reported actions. The state of the home and the animals in it suggests prolonged neglect. Sign the petition below to ask the prosecutor to seek the maximum possible penalty in this case, including a ban on animal ownership in the future, if Fay is found guilty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mrs. Andruzzi,

Over 80 Great Danes were recently rescued from an alleged puppy mill operation. Per investigators, the conditions they were kept in were filthy and dangerous, with urine and feces caking the floors. The ammonia present in the air was unbearable for rescuers, and the dogs in the home suffered from red and inflamed eyes because of it. They also suffered from various other health issues, including starvation, contagious viral infections, eye problems, and skin conditions.

While the owner claims that the home was only dirty because it hadn’t yet been cleaned for the day, other conditions, including the starved condition of the dogs, suggest ongoing neglect. In order to ensure that no more animals are subjected to this alleged for-profit cruelty, we ask that you seek to ban the operator from animal ownership, if she is found guilty.

Sincerely,
