Goal: To request that Chick-fil-A stop funding anti-gay organizations
The fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is known for its decent food; a lesser-known fact about the corporation, however, is that it frequently gives money to organizations that segregate and deny equality to people who are gay. Between 2003 and 2010, Chick-fil-A has donated $5 million to groups such as the Family Research Council, Marriage & Family Foundation, and Exodus International. $1.9 million alone was donated in 2010.
It is ironic that the Family Research Council’s tagline is “advancing faith, family, and freedom,” because one of its goals is to end the liberties of those who are gay by taking away their right to marry and start families of their own. Similarly, Exodus International claims homosexuality is a choice, and dedicates itself to “helping” those who are “affected” by it by introducing them to their Bible-backed beliefs. It is outrageous that Chick-fil-A supports such offensive groups, and it is time the fast food chain rids itself of its bigoted morals. Sign the petition now to demand that Chick-fil-A stop donating to these anti-gay causes, and let the company know that it has lost the business of at least one disgusted customer until they comply.
I write in regard to your charities of choice. It has come to my attention that between 2003 and 2010, you donated roughly $5 million to certified anti-gay organizations such as the Marriage & Family Foundation and the Family Research Council. I am outraged by these actions and urge you to immediately cease all funding to these groups.
Contrary to what you believe, homosexuality is not a choice, nor has it ever been a choice in any way, shape, or form. Sexual orientation is something each person is born with, for if it is not, when did heterosexual people choose to be straight? Whether or not you agree with the gay lifestyle, it is not up to you to pass judgement on anybody, nor is it up to you to decide what is right and what is wrong. You are a fast food chain. Your job is to supply food to customers, not fund injustice.
I am disgusted that you support such segregation and inequality, and I will personally refuse to give Chick-fil-A my business until your priorities have changed.
