Punish Teens Who Nearly Drove Classmate to Suicide

Target: Janel Keating-Hambly, Superintendent of White River School District

Goal: Demand punishment for teens who nearly drove a boy to suicide.

When several of his peers trashed his yearbook with messages telling him to kill himself, a 13-year-old boy nearly obeyed their commands. The boy’s mother found his suicide note and hurried to the river where he’d been intending to drown himself, only to find that her son had changed his mind. The school had addressed this incident, but has yet to decide upon the action to take regarding the suspects.

Even if the ones who wrote those cruel messages are too young to face criminal action, they must not simply walk away with a slap on the wrist. Too many people, especially teenagers, have been driven to suicide by bullies over the last decade, and this boy was almost another statistic. Even if the suspects are minors, they still must face justice for their actions.

It is never okay to drive a person to suicide, no matter how old one is. Sign this petition to demand the culprits be found and punished as harshly as the law will allow for ones so young.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Superintendent Keating-Hambly,

A 13-year-old boy nearly killed himself after his peers wrote messages in his yearbook telling him to do so. His mother found him before he could go through with it and discovered he had changed his mind, but the fact remains that whoever wrote those messages committed attempted murder, as it is legally considered murder to drive a person to suicide.

The school has addressed this and has made it clear they do not find it acceptable, but action has yet to be taken against the potential suspects due to their age. I must urge you to work with local authorities to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. Even though they may be too young to face criminal charges, it is imperative that they understand the consequences of their actions. Too many lives have been ended by bullying, and this boy was almost another one.

Do not allow these teenagers or anyone else another chance to cause a tragedy.

Sincerely,

stop bullying now! biggest mistake to advocate suicide.

    • Yes, it’s very cruel to advocate suicide. The children who did this are little psychopaths-in-the-making, if not psychopaths already.
They should be dealt with as harshly as possible for their age. And as well they need serious ongoing help from a counselor.

The parents of these despicable children should be held accountable too, for dropping their horrible little bastards on the unsuspecting public! If you want kids, it’s up to you to be responsible for the brats!
