Target: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
Goal: Stop the euthanization of almost all animals in PETA’s care
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is an organization that claims to protect the rights of animals. However, their methods of doing so are often questionable. There is now evidence that in addition to these questionable methods, PETA does not even save animals. In fact, they are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of cats and dogs.
Recently, documents have been released showing exactly how many animals under PETA’s care were euthanized. These documents show that in the past year alone, more than 90% of animals ‘rescued’ by PETA have been killed, and over 25,000 animals have been killed in the past decade. These numbers are shocking, especially coming from an organization claiming to protect animals. PETA’s media liaison Jane Dollinger said in a statement that the organization only euthanizes animals because of ‘injury, illness, age, aggression, or because no good homes exist for them.’ However, an investigation into PETA’s shelters shows that most of the animals rescued are killed within 24 hours of arriving at the facilities. This does not allow much time to determine if there is a good home for them.
This careless killing of animals shows that PETA does not care as much for animals as they claim. If they truly wanted to protect animals, they would spend their resources on fixing their shelters to hold more animals or helping other shelters care for animals. Instead, they ‘rescue’ the animals from people and shelters they deem cruel, and then kill these same animals because they are ‘unadoptable’. Tell PETA to stop this cruel cycle and to stop killing these animals.[gravityform id=1 name=Signthe Petition: ajax=false]
Dear People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,
Documents have recently been released that prove your organization has killed over 90% of the animals received at your shelters. This is both unnecessary cruel to the animals, and entirely contradictory to the purpose of your organization. Most of these animals are not given the chance to go to a good home as they are killed within 24 hours of being received at the shelters.
I ask you to stop this cruel act of killing these animals. Unnecessarily killing animals without an attempt to find a good home for them is certainly not ‘ethical treatment’. There are much better ways to protect animals. I urge you to find a way to save animals from unsafe environments without killing them soon after.
