Mail Carrier Accused of Feeding Dogs Nail-Laced Meatballs Must be Punished

Target: Melvin Lockett, Jr., District Attorney of Madison County, Alabama

Goal: Mail carrier who allegedly tried to harm dogs with nail-laced treats must be harshly punished if found guilty.

It is believed that at least two dogs were fed nail-laced meatballs in the town of New Hope, Alabama. The local sheriff’s department has arrested a mail carrier, Susanna Burhans, who is alleged to have left the treats out for neighborhood dogs to ingest. One dog was taken to the vet, where two nails were found embedded in her stomach. The concerned pet owner contacted local authorities, who worked with the town’s post office to track down the suspect. Area residents are now concerned that there may be other dogs who were given the dangerous treats, who may still suffer harm as a result.

Burhans now faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty, which could carry a sentence of up to 10 years in jail if she is found guilty. She has also been suspended from her route, but it is uncertain if she still works for the post office or not.

This deliberate attempt to cause harm to animals is a heinous act which must not be tolerated. If Burhans is found guilty of trying to harm or potentially kill dogs with her lethal ‘treats,’ she must be severely punished for this act of cruelty and must be prevented from owning or interacting with animals in the future. Sign this petition to demand that she be given the maximum penalty for her crimes if convicted.

Dear District Attorney Lockett,

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department recently arrested a mail carrier named Susanna Burhans on charges of aggravated animal cruelty after meatballs containing nails were found outside a New Hope, Alabama home. It is alleged that Burhans was attempting to feed these potentially deadly treats to neighborhood dogs with the intent to cause harm, and it is believed that at least two dogs may have ingested them.

While Burhans has been suspended from her usual route, if she is found guilty of this vile act she must not be allowed to cause further harm to animals. I am urging you to seek the maximum penalty for this crime so that Burhans will serve time in jail if she is convicted for this cruel attempt to cause harm to family pets.

  1. Kathryn Irby says:

Severely punish mail carrier, who intentionally laced dog treats with nails in an attempt to harm/abuse dogs!!!! This is Unacceptable and Obviously Unprofessional on that carrier’s part!!!

  2. TruthSeeker says:

Evil people need to be exterminated like termites. They are a danger to, and a crime against, HUMANITY. Anyone who harms poor, helpless, innocent animals, is also harming innocent people. I had a bad Asian mail carrier, who is hostile, and attempts to get himself injured on peoples properties, so that he can sue, and collect money. I bet he has done really horrific acts in his country, and here as well. Just another A-hole who will burn in HELL!

  3. If she is indeed guilty, this is pre-planned and premeditated. She was using her position as a government employee in a place of public trust to attempt to murder innocent dogs. If guilty, she deserves the maximum punishment.

  4. Sometimes postmen and women are threatened and bitten by dogs left loose by their owners. it is not the right way to hurt the dogs but the owners of those dogs should be punished.

The death penalty for this vile bitch is required when least expected!!!
