Poodle Abandoned and Locked in Suitcase Deserves Justice

Target: Suzanne Anton, Minister of Justice for Richmond, British Columbia

Goal: Demand that the person who locked a dog in a suitcase and abandoned him in the woods on a hot day face the maximum penalty.

A dog was found locked inside of a suitcase in a wooded area. The temperature reached a dangerous 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and the dog could have died. Demand that justice is served for this innocent dog.

“This is absolute cruelty…to do this to a beautiful little poodle, who is the friendliest dog in the world,” stated Eyal Lichtmann, CEO of the Richmond Animal Protection Society. A passerby heard the 6-year-old poodle whimpering inside of a hard-shell suitcase. The poodle, named Donut by his rescuers, was found sitting in his own feces and urine and appeared incredibly frightened.

Donut was treated for extreme dehydration and is expected to make a full recovery. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating but have not yet identified a suspect. Sign below and demand that the suspect, once apprehended, receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear Minister Anton,

A helpless poodle suffered considerably after he was locked in a suitcase and left to die. The suitcase was left in a wooded area, where it remained on the hottest day of the year. We demand that justice is served for this innocent dog.

“He was very, very lucky that he was found,” stated Lichtmann. The temperature reached a suffocating 84 degrees Fahrenheit, and Donut could have easily died. Authorities believe that he was locked in the suitcase between three to six hours before rescue and at first appeared significantly traumatized.

This horrific abuse cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
