Support Innovative Approach to Acclimating Feral Kittens to Human Interaction

Target: Mary Nee, President of the Animal Rescue League of Boston

Goal: Praise efforts for creating and utilizing “Kitten Bjorns” that are quickly helping socialize feral kittens.

If feral kittens are rescued early enough, human intervention and interaction can turn these wild animals into family companions. However, this process can take a long time, which shelter workers do not have. Thankfully, the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has created “Kitten Bjorns,” which are proving to be very helpful.

“Kitten Bjorns” are pouches attached to vests that allow workers to have both hands free while the kittens are getting constant human interaction. According to the ARL, the vests are so effective that some kittens are ready to be put up for adoption just 48 hours later. Not only is this great for the kittens, but it also clears up space in the shelter so more homeless animals can be saved.

Sign this petition and praise ARL for this innovative way to help feral kittens find forever homes.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ms. Nee,

It recently came to my attention that your organization, the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), has created an innovative way to help feral kittens. The “Kitten Bjorn” has proved to be incredibly helpful in socializing feral kittens and preparing them for family life.

As you know, “Kitten Bjorns” are pouches attached to vests that allow workers to have both hands free while the kittens are getting constant human interaction. The vests are so effective that some kittens are ready to be put up for adoption just 48 hours later. This is not only great for the kittens, but this also clears up space, allowing your shelter to bring in and help more animals.

Thank you for thinking outside the box and for your dedication to helping animals. I can only hope more rescues follow in your footsteps and begin utilizing “Kitten Bjorns.”

Sincerely,
