Officer Charged With Covering Up Police Brutality Must Be Fired

Target: William Fitzpatrick, Acting U.S. Attorney

Goal: Fire and punish officer charged with covering up police brutality.

A police officer reportedly lied in a report to cover up for fellow officer Domenico Lillo, who allegedly brutally struck a handcuffed victim with a flashlight. The victim required 16 stitches in his forehead where the officer reportedly struck him. Surveillance cameras from a nearby bar caught the disgusting event. Officer Francis Styles was charged with falsifying police records and failing to report police brutality. According to reports, Officer Styles accompanied Officer Lillo and another unnamed officer to the victim’s home to serve a warrant. The victim never resisted or put up a struggle, yet he was still reportedly brutalized.

Lillo pleaded guilty, but his sentencing has been put off on several different occasions. Despite the surveillance footage, Officer Francis Styles, who reportedly covered up the brutality, was only placed on modified duty after being indicted. It seems the authorities don’t see the severity of this crime or Officer Styles would’ve been stripped of his badge and appropriately punished. Please add your signature to the petition below to demand that these officers be fired and punished.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick,

A police officer plead guilty after striking a handcuffed man with a flashlight, leaving him with a forehead injury that required 16 stitches. The officer’s sentencing has been put off time and time again. Meanwhile, an accompanying officer was charged with falsifying reports, failing to report police brutality, and covering up his fellow officers’ brutality. He was only placed on modified duty.

There’s no reason for this officer to still have a badge after allegedly lying and covering up a violent crime committed by his fellow officer. It’s also disturbing that the officer who pleaded guilty to the brutality has yet to be sentenced. We, the undersigned, demand that these two officers be fired and harshly punished.

Sincerely,

  1. Any cop committing a crime should be fired and prosecuted. It’s a travesty of justice if this does not happen.

  2. Margaret Melnick says:

This was caught on video. Why would he not be fired and should be charged with assault like any citizen would. If a police officer commits an unprovoked attack he should be treated like any one else. NO SPECIAL TREATMENT. are you going to keep him on the force unpunished until he kill someone?

  3. It is pathetic that people allow themselves to be destroyed into a destructive group dynamics and treat other people badly for the trivial naive reason of not belonging to the same group. It reinforces the sense that some people do not have the civil courage to stand up for something that is not right and that harm other fellow human beings.

This poor individual is hiding in the amount of fear of others and, for that reason, allows himself to participate in a destructive act towards fellow human beings.

When will we take on the small step to civil courage and stand up in the crowd and protest against anything that harms people, animals and nature without being affected by the destructive desire to silence us.
