Applaud Retailer for Protecting Endangered Bees

Target: Michael Loeve, CEO of B&Q

Goal: Thank popular retailer for protecting endangered bees by banning the sale of flowers that use harmful pesticides from its stores.

Popular British retailer B&Q has taken a major step to protect endangered bee species by banning the sale of flowers that use harmful pesticides from its stores. This action is a major precedent for retailers and could potentially lead other stores to follow suit.

This ban will take effect next year. B&Q is the first to take this action and is being praised by conservationists and environmentalists throughout Europe who are urging other retailers to follow a similar path.

A majority of the world’s crops rely entirely on bees. Should they go extinct, our food chain will suffer disastrous consequences. Sign the petition to thank B&Q for taking action to prevent this disaster and protect endangered bees.

Dear Mr. Loeve,

I want to thank you for taking action to protect endangered bees. B&Q’s decision to ban the sale of flowers that use harmful pesticides is a major step in helping slow the rapid depletion of the bee species. Bees are vital to our environment and its sustainability and help pollinate a majority of our crops.

As the first retailer to undertake such an action to prevent the extinction of bees, I only hope that more retailers in the United Kingdom, United States, and elsewhere will follow suit. Thank you for taking the first step.

okay – to stop selling flowers which need harmful pesticides for sure is a good step – but it would be much better not to use pestecides at all!!!

    • Maybe – hopefully – this will be the start of a widespread movement that will help to put pesticide companies out of business.
