Target: The Obama Administration
Goal: Decrease the amount of regulations on U.S. companies to motivate them to bring jobs back to the U.S.
In the midst of an awfully slow recovery in the United States, many people wonder why U.S. companies do not just bring more production from overseas back into the U.S. This would create more jobs for Americans, thus giving them more disposable income which would increase consumption and market demand. This picture seems simple and logical enough. Yet what a lot of people do not know is that U.S. companies often times move their production overseas because it is a lot cheaper to do business in countries like China and Taiwan than in the U.S. This is not only because labor is cheaper, but more importantly, there are fewer costly regulations overseas than there are in the U.S. If people want more jobs to be created in our domestic market, then the people need to rally the government for fewer regulations on U.S. businesses.
The motive for U.S. businesses to move production overseas is no longer solely because of cheap labor; wages are actually increasing in China. Thus, the overload of bureaucratic regulations on businesses is proving to be costly enough to lead firms to move their manufacturing out of our country and into other countries where there is less red tape. As wages increase in China and other Asian countries, the government in the Unites States should consider removing the bulk of regulations in our nation so that U.S. firms will be motivated to move production back to the U.S. once labor becomes equally as costly overseas. The benefit of removing costly and irritating red tape would be more job growth and GDP growth in our country.
Dear Obama Administration,
As the recovery inches along at such a slow pace, the administration should consider cutting the amount of red tape on U.S. businesses in order to motivate more companies to move production back to the U.S. One of the main factors encouraging the shift of manufacturing to Asia is the fact that those countries have little costly regulation. If our government would remove the bulk of regulations on U.S. businesses, then these companies would have little reason to do business overseas since wages are increasing in those countries. If companies moved production back to the U.S. there would be an escalation in job creation, which would ultimately boost our economy as more people have jobs and more disposable income to spend in our market. Furthermore, a lot of people would have more of an incentive to start their own business in the U.S. if the amount of regulations were removed; more businesses equals more economic growth. Please consider taking this action to downsize the ridiculous amount of red tape in our country.
