Protect Scotland’s Landscape from Destruction

Target: Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform

Goal: Protect Scotland’s beautiful landscape by maintaining the ban on fracking.

Scotland’s natural landscape is under threat as the government will soon decide whether to allow fracking in the nation. A ban has been in place since 2015, but ministers have until the end of the year to decide whether or not this ban is appropriate.

The ban has put a halt to fracking and has spared Scotland from the environmental and ecological damage that hydraulic fracturing causes, like water contamination, gas leaks, and earthquakes. However, the oil and gas industries in the country are lobbying for the government to bring an end to the ban.

Government ministers will soon be briefed during a fracking consultation prior to making their decision. Sign the petition and demand that the ministers hold firm to the ban they put in place two years ago. Ask that they not allow fracking to encroach on Scotland’s wealth of natural resources.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ms. Cunningham,

The government of Scotland will soon decide whether fracking should continue to be banned. The ban on fracking in the country, which started two years ago, has been successful. It has spared Scotland’s landscape from degradation and protected its water from pollution.

If the government allows fracking, Scotland’s environment may face irreparable danger. I ask that you and your fellow ministers continue to protect Scotland’s landscape by maintaining this ban on fracking.

Sincerely,

Wherever the U.S. has ignored the scientists’ warnings about fracking water pollution, environmental destruction and earthquakes have occurred. The U.S. is being manipulated by a madman who considers himself a dictator. The previous Republican President, Bush II, is the one who got fracking started. His Vice President was the “former” CEO of Halliburton, the company that invented fracking. How crooked but ignored that fracking was started in that presidency. The U.S. is completely off-course and makes ALL decisions based on the greed of a few at the top. Science is ignored and it is irrelevant if the environment is ruined and people die. DO NOT FOLLOW OUR FOOTSTEPS. DO NOT PERMIT FRACKING!

    • I agree. All Scotland has to do is take a lesson from America. Simple!
If they follow the advice of the oil and gas lobbying groups, they will do irreparable harm to Scotland’s land, water supplies, wildlife and plant life. The oil and gas industries will use lies and bribes as usual. Scotland, don’t fall for their tactics!

This catastrophic raping of the environment by mendacious corporate greed must stop NOW … before it’s too late. The irrevocable damage done to Scotlands beautiful pristine wilderness and precious wildlife will be forever. There must be an end to this irresponsible human predation.

Please are the ‘Powers to Be’ totally dumb and blind? They only have to look around the world where water is on fire, more earth quakes, contaminated water and air… Oh for goodness sake don’t be idiots and blindly follow the huge mistakes of the US, and now Australia? Please learn from these mistakes and save your beautiful land, fauna and flora, not to mention your children’s future.
