Justice for Homeless Man Reportedly Killed and Set on Fire

Target: Layla H. Zon, District Attorney for Newton County, Georgia

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the man who allegedly killed a homeless man and burned his body in the woods.

A homeless man was found dead in a wooded area, his body on fire. Police believe that the man was murdered. Demand justice for this innocent man.

“This right here is where he was on fire. You see stuff like that in movies or whatever. You don’t actually think it will be in your own, you know, right here,” Michael Avon Williams’ wife stated as she walked a reporter through the wooded area where her husband’s body was found. Though the cause of death is currently unknown, Williams reportedly suffered a head injury and was set on fire.

Benjamin Marcus Johnson has been arrested and charged with murder, concealing the death of another, and arson. Sign below and demand that Johnson receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Zon,

A homeless man suffered a tragic death when he was reportedly murdered. According to police, he suffered a head injury and was set on fire. We demand justice for this innocent man.

Bystanders alerted local authorities when they saw smoke rising out of the wooded area. Covington police responded and found Williams’ actively burning body. Witnesses’ statements led them to arrest Johnson, another local homeless man, for the gruesome murder.

This horrific crime cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,
