Fight for International Ban on Captive Orca Breeding

Target: Segolene Royal, Environment Minister of France

Goal: Encourage other nations to follow France’s recent ban on captive orca and dolphin breeding.

France has made the monumental decision to not only ban captive orca and dolphin breeding, but also ban the keeping of all whales and dolphins besides those already in captivity. This is a huge success for the animals trapped within the entertainment industry.

Orcas and dolphins are incredibly social and intelligent animals who suffer from various physical and mental problems in captivity. Many of the animals show excessive signs of stress and die prematurely. Thankfully, future generations of orcas and dolphins will not be forced to live under these circumstances in France.

Sign this petition and praise France for banning breeding and captivity of these amazing wild animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Minister Royal,

France has recently made the groundbreaking decision to ban captive orca and dolphin breeding as well as ban the keeping of all whales and dolphins, besides those already in captivity. This is great news for the animals trapped within the entertainment industry.

As you know, orcas and dolphins are very intelligent and social animals. They thrive in the wild and will swim and explore miles upon miles in a single day. In captivity, these animals suffer mentally and physically and can only swim in endless circles around their small, concrete tanks.

Thank you so much for being a voice for the voiceless and helping animals. It is inspiring to see people coming together to protect our precious wildlife. I urge you to work with your government to encourage other nations to follow France’s example.

Sincerely,
