Pepsi Must Stop Supporting Deforestation

Target: Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi, President of PepsiCo

Goal: Stop using palm oil from companies that cause deforestation.

The popular beverage company PepsiCo is aiding in the destruction of our world’s rainforests by sourcing palm oil from companies that cause deforestation. One of the biggest food companies in the world, Pepsi uses palm oil in its food and beverages.

Palm oil is found in about half of the products Americans buy. It is sourced from the rainforests of Asia, Africa and South America. Although small farmers have benefited, major corporations and companies have taken over the industry and have left a path of destruction in their wake.

These corporations have expanded their production rapidly and have overtaken wetlands and rainforests in order to harvest the palm oil. These companies have led to rapid deforestation of these natural habitats and Pepsi has supported them, purchasing its palm oil supply from these companies. Sign the petition and demand that Pepsi sever its ties with these companies.

Dear Ms. Nooyi,

Large palm oil corporations cause rapid deforestation and destroy fragile rainforests around the world. Pepsi is one of the many major food and beverage companies to support these corporations by using this palm oil in Pepsi products.

Pepsi must sever its ties with these companies to protect the environment. Pepsi should support the small palm oil farmers that depend on the land, not the corporations that take advantage of the land and do nothing but destroy it.
