Target: Bill Nettles, District Attorney of South Carolina
Goal: Harshly punish man who reportedly wrapped a puppy in duct-tape while cruelly removing staples from the animal’s ears.
A man is believed to have illegally clipped his dog’s ears, then wrapped the puppy’s mouth and legs in duct-tape while cruelly removing staples from its ears. Minutes after removing the staples, William Harpe reportedly posted a photo of the poor duct-tape wrapped puppy to Snapchat with apparent pride.
Police say they checked with veterinarians in the local area and couldn’t find one who had performed the puppy’s ear clipping, so it was most likely the result of an at-home act of animal cruelty. People who clip their dogs’ ears and cause their animals unnecessary pain by removing staples at home should not be allowed to own animals. The man believes the charges will be dropped, as Harpe says he’s “rescued” many animals. That means if careful, deliberate action is not taken by authorities, this man will likely get away with this act of animal cruelty and be allowed to continue subjecting many more “rescued” animals to unnecessary cruelty. Sign below to demand that this man is punished harshly.
Dear Mr. Nettles,
A man reportedly wrapped his puppy’s mouth and paws in duct-tape while cruelly removing staples from her hers. He then posted a photo to Snapchat of the puppy wrapped in duct-tape. The poor puppy’s ears had been clipped, and authorities were unable to confirm that the procedure had been done by a veterinarian, meaning it’s extremely likely that this man cruelly cut the poor puppy’s ears at home.
These are the acts of a cruel person who has no regard for the lives of innocent animals. The man says he “rescues” many animals and he’s confident that his charges will be dropped. If this man is allowed to escape justice, then he could inflict more unnecessary suffering upon dozens of more animals. That’s why we’re urging you to do everything possible to ensure that he’s punished to the maximum extent and banned from owning animals.
