Fund Important Global Women’s Health Organization

Target: Tom Shannon, Under Secretary of State

Goal: Reinstate important funding for global women’s health initiative.

The United States Department of State has completely cut all funding to the United Nations Population Fund. This United Nations organization helps millions of the world’s poorest, at-risk women in third world countries by providing them with health benefits and services. Now, these women are at risk of death.

The United States was at one time the organization’s biggest supporter, donating tens of millions of dollars annually. Women in 150 nations across the world have been protected from genital mutilation and sexual violence and have benefited from family planning, reproductive services, and more.

The Trump Administration’s decision to take away this funding will put millions of women at risk of death. Sign the petition and demand that the U.S. reinstate the funding it had previously given to the important health organization.

Dear Secretary Shannon,

After many years of support, the United States has pulled its funding away from the United Nations Population Fund. Our nation’s donations helped millions of at-risk women flee sexual violence, find health care, learn family planning, and more.

America has the resources to donate such funds and as one of the wealthiest nations in the world, a nation that preaches against violence and sexism, we have a duty to. I ask that the United States reinstate the donations it makes to the organization and protect these millions of marginalized women.
