Target: Scott Durchslag, President of Angie’s List
Goal: Remove advertisements from The O’Reilly Factor and stand against sexual harassment.
A handful of companies, including Mercedes Benz and Allstate, have pulled their advertisements from The O’Reilly Factor after its host Bill O’Reilly has been accused of sexually harassing multiple women and allegedly paying them millions to keep quiet. However, the popular website Angie’s List is not among these companies.
Angie’s List currently broadcasts ads on O’Reilly’s show. It argues that it would like to keep its services and marketing open to as wide a group of people as possible. However, a line should be drawn when a television host or figure has allegedly committed horrific illegal deeds against women.
O’Reilly has often been accused of sexual harassment and has even been accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife. In addition, O’Reilly has recently come under fire for racist and sexist remarks against a female congresswoman. It is time for companies to put women’s rights before their bottom line and stand against sexual harassment of any sort. Sign the petition and demand that Angie’s List pull its ads from the program.
Dear Mr. Durchslag,
About 20 companies have already pulled their ads from The O’Reilly Factor after the show’s host Bill O’Reilly was accused of sexual harassment by several women. If these allegations are true, this is very troubling. As a result, Angie’s List should reconsider its current partnership with the program and remove its ads.
In addition to being accused of sexual harassment, O’Reilly has also been accused of racism. His actions stand in direct contrast to the values Angie List holds and to the values our society should strive towards. I ask that you put women’s rights before your bottom line and pull your advertisements from O’Reilly’s program.
