Investigate Legality of Ivanka Trump’s White House Role

Target: Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Goal: Investigate the legality of Ivanka Trump’s role as an official White House employee.

Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka has been working as an adviser to her father since he took office as president. As an unofficial adviser and not a government employee, Ivanka still received security clearance and was set to have an office in the White House’s West Wing. However, after the ethics of this arrangement were questioned, she announced plans to become an official government employee.

While Donald Trump’s wife Melania appears to be less involved with politics than former First Ladies, Mr. Trump’s daughter Ivanka has been closely involved with his governing since he took office. Her role as a government employee raises questions about nepotism, legality and ethics, specifically surrounding the issue of her father’s business ties and possible conflicts of interest.

Ivanka Trump working as a government employee while advising her father in a political capacity is a possible ethics violation, and that risk is increased if she is at all involved in the running of her father’s businesses while he is in office.

Please sign the below petition to demand an investigation into this new conflict of interest within the Trump administration.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Sessions,

Ivanka Trump has been working as the president’s unofficial adviser since he took office, and there are now plans to make her an official White House employee in order to diminish concerns over possible legal and ethical violations surrounding her role in the administration.

Ivanka’s appointment as an official White House employee, however, raises more concerns about nepotism at play in the Trump administration (Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has also acted as an adviser and been tapped to head the White House Office of American Innovation). Ivanka’s potential involvement in her father’s business dealings raise questions about conflicts of interest, which have already been a much-discussed issue in the Trump White House.

I urge you to investigate the legality of Ivanka Trump’s role as a presidential adviser and her potential position as an official government employee. A relative of Donald Trump’s who has close ties to his private businesses should not be appointed to an official post such as this one. I ask that you use your position as Attorney General of the United States to investigate this matter to the fullest extent.

Sincerely,

  1. She and her husband Jared Kushner most definitely should be investigated. The nepotism and conflicts of interest are blatant. An outright abuse of power by Trump.

  2. Gillian Miller Gillian Miller says:

For God’s sake, grow up! Trump was legally voted in as president and every time he does something legally the peanut brains jump and down and scream.

Get a life and let Trump govern, pathetic excuses of people!!

    • So you’re ok with Trump no matter what he does? In your eyes he can do no wrong? No critical thinking necessary? No ethical questions to be considered? Let him govern any way he wants no matter what he does? Sounds like you’ve given over your right to think for yourself to Trump.

  3. Gigi Middlebrook says:

The nepotism of this administration is running rampant and NO BODY does anything nor do they seem to care. These people should be thrown in jail for all the nepotism that runs in this family.

  4. Beth Marie says:

What an idiotic petition, will NOT sign.

  5. Kathryn Irby says:

    Nepotism is Unacceptable!!
