Justice for Dog Who Died After Alleged Neglect at Boarding Facility

Target: Timothy J. Cruz, District Attorney for Plymouth County, Massachusetts

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the owners of a boarding facility who allegedly neglected a dog, leading to the dog’s death.

A dog died after he was allegedly neglected while staying in a boarding facility. The dog was reportedly kept in a small cage for up to 30 unsupervised hours. The owners stated that they were sorry for the dog’s death and their attorney stated that they were not at fault. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

“Maximus should not have died that weekend and if he was given any care whatsoever, he wouldn’t have,” stated Rob Foley, Maximus’ owner. Maximus’ necropsy report showed that he died of bloat, the buildup of food, fluid or gasses in the stomach. Though the cause of bloat is unknown, stress reportedly contributes to it. If Maximus had been monitored more closely, then it’s possible that he could have survived.

Ann Marie Brown and Peter W. Brown, the owners of Annie’s Clean Critters, have each been charged with one count of animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that they receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Cruz,

A dog died after he was allegedly left unattended at a boarding facility. Per the Animal Rescue League, the facility was unsanitary and the cages were too small for a dog’s comfort. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Whitman police reportedly accessed the kennel’s surveillance video, showing the days leading up to Maximus’ death. The video reportedly showed Maximus being left inside of a small cage for up to 30 hours without monitoring. When not in the cage, he was reportedly placed in an outside kennel without water or shade.

This horrific cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand the immediate shutdown of Annie’s Clean Critters and the maximum penalty for those convicted in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Justice for this poor dog!

  2. William Foley says:

    Justice for Maximus

  3. Lindsey Ann says:

This is not the truth! Sign away however Annie and Peter are human beings. It’s sad this happened, a tragedy. Leave Annie alone! She loves animals and would do anything for them. Think of that.

    • And you know the truth, how? From what they told you? Did you watch the 3 days of surveillance that the investigators combed through? People just don’t get charged with animal cruelty for nothing. Investigators aren’t going to bring up charges and waste people’s time if there wasn’t even an assemblence of truth to this. Yes they are human beings. NEGLECTFUL human beings

      • Lindsey Ann says:

The reports say “allegedly ” “reportedly “. It doesn’t say it happened with certainty. Again, I don’t want to discount the dogs death. That is sad. However, It wasn’t their fault. I will stand by them because I know the truth. Annie would not hurt an animal. The way she runs business is not what is being ” reported”. You all want justice? Your ruining a reputation, a life, a family, all because you want to blame someone. It didn’t happen because of neglect. Isn’t bloating a natural cause? Anyways we can fight back and forth. You all have your mind made up with on side of the story.

        • Leaving a dog in a small cage for 30 hours is sickening!!! They should be kept in a cage for 60 hours….lets see how well they do. I hope they get jail time and the business gets shut down. This story makes me sick and I feel so bad for the family and the poor Maximus, who obv suffered.! Awful people!

          • You forgot to add, this cage that the dog was left in for 30 hours was only big enough to leave a cat in.

    • You don’t get charged without sufficient evidence, ever think about that?

    • Maximus' Owner says:

She must have forgot to love any of the animals that were there that entire weekend. There’s a lot more too. There’s also a confession that was written months before any of this started coming out. You can think of that, whenever you get a chance, no rush

    • Bill Foley says:

Please the only thing they love is making money off animals

    • Kristin Gallagher says:

You think this isn’t the “truth.” You honestly believe what those people did to these poor animals wasn’t cruel and neglectful? So to prove to us we are over reacting and need to drop t and leave them alone.. how about you let Annie lock yourself in a cage that is way too small for you for 30+ hours without any contact from them. No food, no water.. you need to go to the bathroom- go on yourself- just like Maxiumus had to. You go through that torture not only physically but emotionally just like those animals had to and then you can have an opinion on wither it was neglectful on the parts of your friends.

      • Lindsey Ann says:

What I’m saying is “your truth” is not the whole story or the entire accurate story. It’s one sided. Let the police and lawyers do there job. The truth will come out. When she isn’t convicted I’ll say ” I told you so”

        • Maximus' Owner says:

Or you could very easily let your friends tell us their truth. It’s been 9 months and still not even a word to the public, why is that, maybe because everything they tried to claim in the beginning was proven wrong. They are on these pages yet they both remain behind the lawyers. We are all waiting with open arms for the side but I can 100% without a doubt tell you not to hold your breath because it won’t happen, never.

        • Maximus' Owner says:

Maybe you could bless us with what we are missing, here’s your chance! Didn’t think so. Anytime you would like to let us know what they are telling you we will be right here waiting. I can tell you that we aren’t going anywhere and this will always be out for the public to know every day going forward

        • Are you really mocking a death with a hope for an “I told you so”? Its clear to everyone now how you can defend those people. You are clearly a monster just like they are.

          • I hope they get jail time and the business gets shut down! I’d like the owners to be put in cages for 60 hours with no food or water and go defecate on yourself. These are awful people. The fact you’re defending them is sick too!

          • Lindsey Ann says:

Not at all. I’ve said from the beginning Maximus’s death is a tragedy. What I’m saying is that what the public is hearing and what really happened isn’t the same. The truth will come out. I’m going to leave all of you alone to mourn the loss of a dog and try to destroy the lives of people who didn’t do what your all saying.

          • Lindsey Ann says:

Not at all. I’ve said from the beginning Maximus’s death is a tragedy. What I’m saying is that what the public is hearing and what really happened isn’t the same. In one sentences it’s saying in a crate for 30 hours and the next is says he was baking in the sun. That’s what I mean about the WHOLE truth. The story is one sided and misconstrued. The truth will come out. I’m going to leave all of you alone to mourn the loss of a dog and try to destroy the lives of people who didn’t do what your all saying.

    • Cheryl McNeil says:

    Justice for Max

  6. Justice for Max❤

  7. GUILTY NOW. MUST PUT THESE TURDS IN A CAGE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LAME LIVES NOW. JUSTICE FOR MAX THE GREAT DOG NOW.

  8. I can’t believe this poor dog was neglected and left alone for 30 hours (and it’s all caught on video surveillance!) How can you run a boarding facility when you’re not even there to care for the animals??! The owners should be charged and the facility should be shut down ASAP so it doesn’t happen again.

  9. Sure bloat can occur on its own….but 30 hours of being crated for a house trained dog is a contributing factor. It is absurd to defend against video surveillance. I would be picketing in front of this facility if they did this to my dog and would be sure to inform everyone going in there.
They were not worrying about there reputation for at least 30 hours!
They should be closed and prosecuted

  10. Kathryn Irby says:

Justice for this Innocent, Loving Dog!!!!

  11. It is so sad looking your dog! It is looking a family member!!!
This place should be shut down. I can’t understand how peop!e could leave a dog in a crate for eight hours never mind 30 hours with no good or water and no where to go to the bathrokm!!. HORRIBLE HEART BREAKING CRIMINAL!!!!
