Stop Dirty Coal From Devastating Our Environment

Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States

Goal: Don’t overturn President Obama’s clean energy regulations that protect the environment from the damaging effects of coal and fossil fuels.

Donald Trump is attempting to revoke President Obama’s coal regulations, and is endangering our planet and our health. As renewable and clean energy has become cheap and used widely throughout the rest of the world, it has has begun to overtake dirty and harmful coal energy. However, Trump wants to trash President Obama’s Clean Power Plan and encourage the use of more dirty coal and fossil fuels.

Coal is the single biggest cause of air pollution in the United States and, because of the millions of tons of CO2 its mining and burning emits per year, it is one of the leading causes of global warming (which Trump and his EPA chief do not believe in). To reopen coal mines and rely on the dirty energy source would only further harm our environment and leave more toxic pollution for future generations.

Trump must understand that coal mining is a thing of the past. We have the technology and resources to rely on cleaner, even cheaper renewable energy. Trump has no reasoning for cutting back on regulations except it will benefit business tycoons like himself. Sign the petition and demand that President Obama’s clean energy protections are not destroyed by Trump.

Dear President Trump,

You recently voiced an interest in revoking President Obama’s clean energy mandates and encouraging the mining and burning of more dirty coal. However, while you say this is in the best interests of Americans, these actions will, in reality, harm the citizens you represent.

Coal is the single biggest cause of pollution in America, as well as the leading cause of global warming. If regulations are loosened, our planet will be irreversibly damaged. Global warming will hasten, more ice will melt, and more species will go extinct. Extreme weather events like floods and droughts will increase, along with toxic pollution. Coal mining is a thing of the past. The only way forward is clean and renewable energy. If you really want to do what is in the best interest of America, you must keep President Obama’s clean energy regulations in place.

  1. It’s hard to keep up with all the moves Trump is making to allow the destruction of the environment by big business.
This attempt by Trump to help the coal companies is disgusting and disturbing to say the least.

  2. Gen Lovyet Agustsson says:

stop making coal! make solar energies now!

  3. would you liked anything else changed for your perfect little world …..

  4. Want to help the environment? Stop breeding. All those rocks, trees, copper, plastic etc that goes into constantly building home is very damaging to the environment. All the diesel powered heavy equipment used for clearing and making the land suitable to build on, the increase of fertilizers on lawns, the list goes on.

Let’s not and say we did. The buck stops here!

  7. You can’t say that we have to keep the coal industry going to save jobs; the people who made shoe buttons and button hooks probably didn’t like having their industry disappear but they adapted and survived. To imply that these folks are too ingrained or stupid to learn a new vocation is insulting. What good will those jobs be when we can’t breathe the air and drought kills off all our food crops? Do you really think tRump will help you out? Maybe he’ll give you an apartment next to his and let you eat his food…sure. Oops! I just saw a unicorn!

  8. Laurie Miskell says:

I dont want our country to look like China. At this rate we are going to need masks to go outside like they do. This has got to stop.

  9. Stop & pursue this criminal rabble and this deformity  –  instantly!
