Don’t Purposely Starve Refugees

Target: Natacha Bouchart, Mayor of Calais, France

Goal: Don’t ban the distribution of meals to refugees stranded in France.

Natacha Bouchart, the mayor of Calais, France, has proposed enacting a ban on charities delivering meals to refugees, including the more than 1,000 unaccompanied child refugees stranded in her coastal French town. A member of a center-right political party, Bouchart has been against aiding the refugees that have been stranded in her town, going so far as to completely destroy the camp at which they lived.

This ban will cause the death of hundreds of starving children who have no ability to acquire food on their own. Hiding in the woods, away from the government and police force seeking to arrest them, these frightened children can only turn to generous charities for much-needed meals.

These children are only seeking to escape a war-torn country that threatens them with death by both ISIS and government-backed forces every single day. Some were not even born when this violence started and have known nothing other than bloodshed. Regardless of the way one feels about the refugee crisis in Europe, it cannot be denied that innocent children do not deserve to starve to death. Sign the petition and demand that the charities delivering meals to these refugees remain intact.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mayor Bouchart,

You recently suggested banning any and all charities who currently deliver meals to refugees. This will cause the starvation and death of hundreds of refugees, especially those who are children. Over 1,000 refugee children have escaped their war-torn homes and fled to Calais. Unaccompanied by parents who have either been arrested or killed, they have no means of acquiring meals except through the generosity of different charities.

Although I understand that the influx of refugees has caused great strain on your town, refugees do not deserve to starve to death. Many of these child refugees have known nothing but war, violence, and bloodshed. To add starvation to that list would create a human rights crisis unlike any other France has seen. I demand that you continue to allow charities to serve meals to refugees.

Sincerely,

  1. This mayor Natacha Bouchart, who has revealed herself to be a mass murderer at heart by proposing to deliberately starve to death hundreds or thousands of people, including children, should immediately step down from her position. She sounds psychopathic and very dangerous to me.

  2. Lindsey Tanner says:

I know where my tourist dollars are not going. I don’t want to visit a town where the mayor feels justified in banning charities from helping starving people.
