United States: Help End Crisis in Venezuela

Target: Lee McClenny, United States Ambassador to Venezuela

Goal: Bring much-needed relief to the suffering country of Venezuela.

Venezuela is in deep economic crisis. They cannot afford medical supplies, and there is a severe food shortage in addition to price inflation. People are forced to wait on lines miles long, and are only allowed to shop on one day a week as dictated by a lottery. Making the situation worse is the shocking fact that the country’s armed forces are benefiting from the suffering of the everyday people; they are profiting from the food shortage by charging ridiculous amounts of money in an illegal market for even the basic food supplies such as rice and corn flour.

The combination of economic crisis and military corruption will completely destroy this country if we do not act now. Venezuela needs as much help as it can get, financially and otherwise. Too many people have already died due to the lack of medical aid, clean hospitals and from starvation while the military grows fat and happy off the money and food that could be going to the surviving population. This is completely unacceptable.

It is only a matter of time before Venezuela collapses under the strain of its poverty and military corruption. Sign this petition now to demand the United States bring much-needed relief and supplies to this country.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ambassador McClenny,

Venezuela is suffering from an economic crisis so dire that people cannot afford to eat, and hospitals cannot afford medical supplies. Compounding this problem is the corrupt military selling basic food items for outrageous prices, at least 20 times more than the appropriate cost. They are profiting off of of the suffering of the everyday citizens, many of whom have died to starvation and illness during this crisis.

At the rate things are going, it is only a matter of time before Venezuela collapses under the strain of these issues. Hospitals need medical supplies for the sick, people need to be able to eat, and the corruption of the military must be addressed. You must send as much aid as possible to this country, be it financial or supplies. It is a luxury just to be able to eat once a week, and sick people are lucky to be alive.

Please help save Venezuela before it is too late.

Sincerely,

  1. If the U.S. sends aid, they also need to make sure that it is received by those who need it, not intercepted on the way, as often occurs.
