Demand Sea Park Release Lone Dolphin to Sanctuary

Target: Jeff Pawloski, Animal Curator at Sea Life Park

Goal: Retire Kina, the lone false killer whale at Sea Life Park, to an accredited seaside sanctuary.

A lone false killer whale has reportedly been kept alone, in a small dirty tank at Hawaii’s Sea Life Park for a little over a year. This dolphin has had an incredibly difficult life and it is time she is retired to an accredited sanctuary where she can relax and be happy for her remaining days.

Before Kina was isolated at Sea Life Park, she was used for echolocation research at the University of Hawaii and the Navy. Before she was brought over to the U.S., she was stolen from the wild during one of Japan’s notorious drive hunts and kept at a sea park in Hong Kong. She now languishes in a small tank where she allegedly has no relief from the direct sunlight.

Sign this petition and demand Kina is retired and brought to an accredited sanctuary where she can live out the rest of her days as nature intended.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Pawloski,

Kina has been kept at your marine park all alone for the last 17 months. Before she arrived at your park, her life was very difficult.

For years she was used for echolocation research at the University of Hawaii and the U.S. Navy. Before that, she was stolen form the wild in 1987 during one of Japan’s infamous drive hunts and brought to a marine park in Hong Kong. Kina has never been given a chance to really thrive in a natural setting.

Please consider retiring Kina to an accredited sanctuary where she be in a more natural habitat and can dive, swim freely and be surrounded by fellow marine friends. She does not bring in any profit since she is secluded from the public.

Sincerely,

  1. This poor animal who was kidnapped from her life in the wild, abused and tortured for many years by the University of Hawaii and the U.S. Navy, and is now being tortured by life in solitary confinement by cruel people, should be immediately rescued and sent to a good sanctuary. The horrifying cruelty toward this poor dolphin should never happen again to any creature.

  2. eliane biourd says:

LISTEN YOU BASTARDS, LET THIS POOR CREATURE GO TO A SANCTUARY TO BE WITH OTHERS OF HER OWN SPECIES!!! SOLITARY CONFINEMENT IS SELDOM USED FOR HUMAN CRIMINALS WHO HAVE COMMITTED HORRIBLE CRIMES. WHAT CRIME HAS THIS POOR CREATURE COMMITTED? NONE!!!! SHE JUST HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF RUNNING INTO STUPID HUMANS. PUT YOUR OWN ASSES IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT AND SEE HOW WELL YOU DO. SCREW THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII AND THE US NAVY.

  3. NO TIENEN NINGÚN DERECHO A SEGUIR SECUESTRANDO ANIMALES DE LA NATURALEZA, ALTO A ESTOS TERRIBLES CRÍMENES. NO PUEDEN SEGUIR PERTURBANDO A TODOS LOS SERES VIVOS DEL PLANETA!!!!! EXIGIMOS DE FORMA DETERMINANTE QUE LIBEREN A ESTAS INCREÍBLES ESPECIES EN UN SANTUARIO ESPECIALIZADO, DONDE TENGAN ABSOLUTA LIBERTAD Y ESTÉN PROTEGIDOS EN CONTRA DEL ABUSO DE LOS SERES HUMANOS POR TODAS SUS VIDAS!!!!

  4. Dolphins live in pods/groups. To keep Kina i isolation in some tank is abuse. There are sanctuaries that can and would take her.

  5. kina needs friends now, release this great dolphin to a better life today.
