Target: Dale Epper, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Chile
Goal: Thank the United States Embassy for their very generous donation to aid Chile.
Chile has recently been engulfed in wildfires that have lasted days, destroying homes and taking lives. Firefighters are putting forth all of their effort, but there is only so much they can do, and the fires have yet to cease. Recently, the United States Embassy donated $740,000 to the country in order to pay for more protective equipment and firefighting tools, which brings the total fund to well over $800,000.
Chile has suffered many hardships over the past few decades, from political unrest to multiple earthquakes, and now these fires. The people continue to live strong and fight on, but they are still in need of aid and the embassy has done a wonderful thing to give so much. The funds may not stop the fires themselves, but they will protect those who fight them and will hopefully provide much relief to the people who have lost their homes or been injured in the blazes.
Right now, the U.S. is struggling with its own political unrest to the point where some have lost sight of what is happening in other countries, but this donation proves that as a whole, we are still working to improve not just our own lives but the lives of those surrounding us. Sign this petition to thank the embassy for this generosity.
Dear Deputy Chief Epper,
Your generous donation to Chile’s relief fund was a wonderfully unselfish gesture. Right now, Chile is seeing the worst wildfires in history; too many people have lost their homes and their lives to the blazes. The firefighters will be able to use this money for protection and tools, while some of the funds will hopefully go to aiding civilians in need.
It is truly heart-lifting and encouraging to see the United States extending their care and thoughts of others to outside the country. Right now, our own political unrest has kept everyone’s hands full as we strive to protect everyone within our borders, so much that some have lost sight of what goes on outside. Your actions are a reminder that foreign aid and relations are more important than ever.
Thank you for donating such a generous sum to those in need. Please, keep up the good work.
