Demand Justice for Dolphin Killed While Tourists Took Selfies

Target: Horacio Gimenez, Chief of Buenos Aires Police

Goal: Prosecute those responsible for allegedly pulling a dolphin out of the water and letting it die in the sun.

A new video has emerged from San Bernardo, Argentina, showing tourists surrounding and hovering over a baby dolphin while the innocent animal roasts in the sun. It is unclear whether or not the dolphin was sick beforehand, but the stress from so much human contact and from being forced out of the water almost certainly contributed to this dolphin’s death.

Dolphins cannot survive out of water for long because of their thick, blubbery skin. Their skin absorbs heat very quickly, which results in a dramatic increase in body temperature. Evidently, none of the tourists in San Bernardo possessed this knowledge about dolphins — they seemed concerned with little more than pursuing the perfect selfie. Sign this petition to demand justice on behalf of this poor dolphin, and other wild animals who fall victim to overly-confident, uninformed tourists.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Gimenez,

A disturbing video from the beaches of San Bernardo shows many tourists hovering and crowding over a baby dolphin while it roasts in the sun. A local newspaper reported that the dolphin was pulled out of the water while witnesses crowded around in order to pet it or get a picture.

It is unclear whether or not the baby was sick beforehand, but the stress of being around so many humans and not begin returned to the water was certainly harmful, and demonstrates the tourists’ lack of regard for the animal’s well being. Dolphins cannot survive out of the water for long because their thick, blubbery skin absorbs heat quickly, leading to increased body temperature.

Dolphins already face many hardships because of humans, including fishing nets and pollution. Ignorance and selfish desires that jeopardize wildlife should not be tolerated. Please investigate this case and punish those responsible.

Sincerely,

    • THE GREATNESS OF A NATION AND ITS MORAL PROGRESS CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED. Mahatma Gandhi
A curse on the bastard humans. They must receive the severest punishment. If the authorities do not do this then they have no guts and are equally to blame.

    • How about we drown the F****** instead! I didn’t realize that such cretins could exist! PROSECUTE THESE UNBELIEVABLY STUPID HUMANS!!!

  2. There needs to be laws and enforced fines put in place and Posted on beach areas where marine life is exposed to contact with people. People are inherently ignorant when it comes to animals of any kind and lack the teachings to Respect and Protect these animals. Laws, fines and legal punishment is the only protection these animals have. The Honorable Horacio Gimenez, Chief of Buenos Aires Police, should charge these irresponsible and selfish people with an animal hate crime and punish them accordingly. Thank you.

So sad and tragic for the poor baby dolphin.
How can people be so cruel? How can they be so sadistic toward an innocent baby dolphin? And while laughing and enjoying themselves. Unfathomable.

  4. “The only difference between a dog, cat, horse and dolphin and a cow, chicken, pig and turkey is perception. One is no more valuable than another. And yet in this culture, we hold the former animals in high esteem and the latter we brutalize for food. All animals are deserving of respect and freedom from violence. The way to respect others is veganism.”

  8. selfies….how f****** vain and selfish!!!

  9. SICK,SICK,SICK of SELFIES…HOW F****** VAIN AND SELFISH SO MANY PEOPLE ARE!!

  10. Is there any indication this dolphin was sick? I think not! Dolphins are friendly and allowed these deranged people to surround him, not knowing he would be pulled out of the water and cooked to death on dry land. None of the tourists possessed knowledge that a dolphin cannot survive out of water, as stated in this petition? These tourists were overly confident and uninformed, as stated in this petition?
These cruel animal abusers and killers knew a dolphin needs to be in water to live….they dragged a swimming friendly creature out of that water.
These were not uninformed tourists. They are self-centered humans focused on abusing and killing a living being for human entertainment and selfies!Selfies could have been taken in
the water! These vile, disgusting selfish humans tortured and killed a young dolphin. They need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU THAT PARTICIPATED IN THIS SELFISH, COWARDLY, HATEFUL AND REPULSIVE CRIME! YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT, VOICELESS, LIVING BEING! YOU ARE DISGUSTING !!!!

  11. Rosslyn Osborne says:

“Ye must not only have kind and merciful feelings for mankind, but ye should also exercise the utmost kindness towards every living creature.
The physical sensibilities and instincts are common to animal and man.
Man is, however, negligent of this reality and imagines that sensibility is peculiar to mankind, therefore he practices cruelty to the animal…..
In reality what difference is there in physical sensations! Sensibility is the same whether you harm man or animal: there is no difference. Nay, rather, cruelty to the animal is more painful because man has a tongue and he sighs, complains and groans when he receives an injury and complains to the government and the government protects him from cruelty; but the poor animal cannot speak, it can neither show its suffering nor is it able to appeal to the government.
If it is harmed a thousand times by man it is not able to defend itself in words nor can it seek justice or retaliate…..
Therefore one must be very considerate towards animals and show greater kindness to them than to man…. Man is generally sinful and the animal is innocent; unquestionably one must be more kind and merciful to the innocent.” Baha’i Faith Writings

I can’t believe those people were so stupid, heartless and selfish to do that with a baby dolphin. This whole selfie taking thing is ridiculous and should be passe by now especially if it brings harm to animals and nature. All those people involved should be punished to the fullest legal extent. A pox on them all. They will suffer grave misfortune and sickness as will their progeny.
