Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States
Goal: Don’t eliminate climate change web pages from the EPA’s government website.
The Trump administration has ordered the EPA to remove all web pages referring to climate change from its government website. President Trump, a climate change denier, is attempting to enforce a dangerous anti-science agenda. This follows disturbing reports of a gag order being placed on all climate research coming out of the EPA, and the purge of all mention of climate change from the White House webpage, which happened before Trump’s inauguration was even over.
This latest announcement has employees scrambling to save all research and data from the purge, afraid that it will be lost forever. The President’s actions demonstrate an abuse of executive authority and a complete and total disregard for the American people and their right to knowledge.
Trump must realize that denying climate change and removing its mention from government websites will not benefit our country. Sweeping science under the rug can do nothing to change reality, though it may prevent some from coming to terms with it. Sign the petition and demand that climate change web data remain on the EPA website.
Dear Mr. Trump,
Your calls to eliminate all climate change web pages from the EPA’s website show an alarming disregard for freedom, knowledge, science, and the future of both America and the planet as a whole. Deleting climate change webpages will not make the very real phenomenon — upon which over 97 percent of scientists agree — disappear.
America will not become “great again” if it is plagued by pollution. It will not be “great again” if the winters grow warmer, flooding increases, and extreme weather phenomena grow more frequent. You cannot rob Americans of their right to knowledge. I demand that you do not remove climate change data from government, tax-payer funded websites.
