Save Polar Bear Habitat by Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Target: Gina McCarthy, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator

Goal: Save the rapidly decreasing polar bear population by curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

Earth’s population of polar bears is dying out day by day due to the effects of global warming and climate change and the increase of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Polar bears rely on the cold climate to survive. However their habitats are slowly disappearing due to unseasonable warmth, leading to the deaths of many bears.

Global warming caused by greenhouse gases has been a problem for the past 10 years, and we are still having trouble convincing the government to take it seriously and put a stop to it. As a result, entire species like the polar bear suffer. We cannot let this continue to happen. We must not only fight harder to prevent global warming but also ensure that the polar bear population survives.

If we do not act now, we will lose one third of the polar bear population in no time flat. Sign this petition now to help save these bears from total extinction.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Administrator McCarthy,

Polar bears are dying out due to climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. The increase of unseasonable warmth is destroying the polar bears’ natural habitat. Polar bears need very cold temperatures in order to thrive, and such places are becoming smaller and rarer. If we do not act quickly to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, one third of the remaining polar bears on this planet will be gone very soon.

Climate change is a serious problem and has been for many years, and only now are people making an effort to take it seriously. Unfortunately, we are having a hard time convincing the government and large businesses to listen to us.

The survival of the polar bear depends on taking major steps to curb greenhouse gases. You have the power to implement stronger laws and to help keep these bears safe and alive. Please help us reduce greenhouse gas emissions so that polar bears have a fighting chance.

Sincerely,

  1. I signed it, but seems like a waste of time….in a few days the person to whom the petition is addressed will no longer be in charge of the EPA….instead, a man with long ties to fossil fuel will be….do you think he’ll care about polar bears?

All of us must start with changes in our daily lives to help the environment and this will cut back on the things that we use to support the greedy companies- Anne Moeller

You’re dumb, go do some research, polar bears are thriving and there are more now then ever. Also polar bears are the only bear known to hunt humans. Also while the climate has been slowly warming for the last 300 years, while major CO2 input from humans started at the earliest 100 years ago. CO2 and the temperature of the earth have no direct correlation. The 97% scientist has been proven false many a time. So if you are replying please do your research first.

    • There are NOT “more than ever”….recent statistics lead scientists to believe there are no more than 25,000.

Grizzlies are far more dangerous than polar bears, if we’re basing this discussion on which bear is the most dangerous to humans, but neither species deserves to be wiped out by us….predators are NEEDED to keep the natural balance of the earth and its’ animals in line….due to the killing off of most predators in the lower 48 states, deer are way over populated and are dying of starvation every winter, and developing new diseases as a result of over population…..

I won’t even TRY to argue with you about the OBVIOUS changes in the climate brought about by human activity, as I’m sure you have your mind made up……but as for polar bears…..look them up, google them, read some articles written by scientists who KNOW that environment and those animals…….

  4. MUST REDUCE THE POLLUTION TO SAVE THE GREAT POLAR BEARS FROM EXTINCTION NOW.

  5. Carbon Tax will do nothing! Have yet to see a constructive, believable proposal by any government. Hands-on is needed: Plant more trees, stop eliminating forests, stop eradicating the Amazon, all weather is created from the Amazon belt (old knowledge!). More global family planning is one of the most essentials to help destroying Earth!
