Justice for Boy Reportedly Locked in Bathroom for a Year

Target: Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes

Goal: Justice for 12-year-old boy reportedly locked in a filthy bathroom for roughly a year.

A young boy was found locked in the bathroom of his family’s home in Utah, weighing only 30 pounds and near death after having spent the last year there. His mother has been arrested for her alleged crime of locking him in there, though the woman claimed the boy “wanted to live in the bathroom” and that she only locked him up for his safety whenever she left the house. Somehow, he survived and is expected to recover in the hospital, though it will obviously take time. It is nothing short of a miracle that he survived given the “heinous” conditions of the bathroom when the police discovered him.

There have been no reasons given for the situation thus far, other than the mother’s alleged explanation. Regardless of the reasons, however, this boy did not deserve to be put in such danger in the first place. The boy’s mother has been charged with second-degree child abuse and must be taken to court and made to face justice.

There is never a valid reason to lock a child in a room and leave them to starve nearly to death for over a year, regardless of the boy’s mother’s claims. Sign this petition to ensure that this woman face justice.

Dear Mr. Reyes,

A young boy was found starved nearly to death after being locked in the bathroom for roughly a year. His mother claims he wanted to live in the bathroom and that she locked him up “for his own safety” when she went out. Nonetheless she has been arrested and charged with second-degree child abuse. The conditions of the bathroom when the boy was discovered were described as “heinous,” yet the boy is miraculously alive and will recover over a period of time in the hospital.

No clear or official reason has been given for the boy’s isolation aside from the mother’s claims, but her alleged crime cannot go unpunished. Please see to it that she is taken to court and face justice for her reported abuses of her son. Regardless of her reasons, the boy did not deserve to suffer for as long as he did. Do not let his suffering have been in vain; ensure that his mother faces the full penalty for her alleged crime.

  2. Well this poor child will have to have therapy every day for the rest of his life to deal with this horrible rejection from people that are supposed to love you unconditionally. I pray for him and that he has the courage to stay alive.

  3. I signed this but not quite sure we need this petition. With a crime this heinous and blatant I would hope justice would take care of his mother.

  4. What is wrong with the human race! Such a sick, twisted woman! Lock her up for eternity.
