Target: Monica Crowley, Trump Administration’s pick for National Security Council
Goal: Publicly admit plagiarism and apologize for failing to meet ethical standards that are essential for serving in a national security capacity.
Evidence has been revealed that author and TV personality Monica Crowley, who is slated as a Trump Administration pick for a senior position in strategic communications on the National Security Council, plagiarized significant portions of her 2012 book and her Ph.D. dissertation from Columbia University. Intellectual dishonesty and fabrication of facts, especially by those who we as citizens are expected to trust with our national security, are a cause for real concern when it comes to our democracy and our safety.
The Trump Administration is calling these charges of plagiarism, “a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country.” However, we cannot face the “real issues” if the facts about them are altered and diluted and if we cannot trust those in power to strive to be ethical and truthful. If Crowley is going to serve on the National Security Council, she must take responsibility for her actions and vow to live up to the standards of integrity her position requires. Sign below to demand that she publicly apologize for this plagiarism.
Dear Ms. Crowley,
As one of President-elect Trump’s picks for a senior position on the National Security Council, you have a responsibility to this country to uphold a standard of ethics, integrity and honesty. Your charges of plagiarism fall woefully short of this standard and must be dealt with if the American people will be asked to trust you with their safety and security.
I urge you to admit to the plagiarism you committed, publicly apologize and commit to giving your country and its citizens the respect they deserve by serving truthfully.
