Target: Honorable John W. Carney, District Attorney for Montgomery County, Tennessee
Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the person who left their dog in a doghouse in freezing temperatures, leading to its death.
A dog was found frozen to death, its body stuck to the inside of a plastic doghouse. The doghouse was left outside of a vacant business for an unknown amount of time. Demand justice for this innocent dog.
“I had to peel the blanket off the dog because it was actually frozen to the dog,” stated Jessica Cook, a Montgomery County Animal Control officer. She found the dog around 8:30 a.m., when the temperature was in the single digits. The dog suffered bruising and discoloration. A necropsy could not be conducted because the tissue was too damaged from the cold.
Officers with Montgomery County Animal Care & Control are searching for the person who abandoned the dog. They do not have any suspects yet. Sign below and demand the maximum in this case.
Dear District Attorney Carney,
A dog was found frozen to death in a plastic doghouse. The doghouse was left outside of a vacant business in freezing temperatures. We demand justice for this innocent dog.
“There’s no excuse for it, if the dog was sick, the owner could’ve called animal control, we would’ve gladly euthanized the dog,” stated Jeanette Farrell, Montgomery County Animal Care & Control Director. It is unknown how long the dog was exposed to the cold, but the temperatures were only in the single digits when it was found.
This disturbing cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that the person responsible receive the maximum penalty by law.
